50 Welsh Artists Join Line Up Of In It Together Festival

The pandemic brought many things into our lives, most of them were challenges, the likes of which we’ve never had to face before. One thing which did come out of the last two years however, is our sense of togetherness, our love for the things we hold closest to our hearts. It’s something we’ve written about many times before, and continue to witness every day.

It’s that sense of belonging, and community, which has brought us a new festival to be held this summer in Margam. With the likes of NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS, CLEAN BANDIT, and TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB headlining, it promises to be a weekend like no other. But it’s the strength of the Welsh talent which really gives the festival its edge.

The concept of IN IT TOGETHER is a community festival on a massive scale. It’s a reunion and a celebration. It is all that we’ve gone through and all that we’ve missed.

In the heart of the Welsh valleys, the organisers plan to bring it all together with international names, local emerging talent, festival goers, performers, volunteers and members of the local community. They want to reunite everyone with everything they love about life.

Born out of a love of music, for Wales and the community, In It Together will celebrate it all on the Jubilee Weekend in June 2022. In fact, the festival is set to be the biggest ever of its kind in Wales and will be a “true celebration of Wales and Welsh culture”

They have some amazing names lined up over the weekend, but the breadth of Welsh talent is truly phenomenal.

The organisers have announced the full list of 50 Welsh artists who will perform across the festival, with some of the best new talent across the country performing alongside a plethora of international superstars, shining a light on local talent like never before.

The 50 artists cover a huge range of genres spanning the entire musical spectrum, with 25 artists performing across the Paddock Stage, showcasing the very best in indie, rock, grime and hip hop, including Cardiff born singer-songwriter GWENNO and Swansea indie rockers WHO’S MOLLY. The other 25 artists will take over the Escape Records Stage covering all things electronic, from rising Trance star WILL REES, to tech-house maestros THIS CULTURE.

Both stages have been carefully curated alongside Focus Wales and BBC Horizons, providing an unrivalled platform that will truly establish them as Wales’ next generation of music stars.

Bethan Elfyn, Project Manager for BBC Horizons said……..

“We’re excited at Horizons to see a new festival on the Welsh map – we look forward to supporting the festival, curating some of the Welsh talent and working with the team to make the weekend one to remember. It’s so important after the last couple of years of restrictions on music events to see new events provide new opportunities and experiences for Welsh artists.”

As well as welcoming some of the best talent Wales has to offer, the festival will also host a range of local food vendors providing the very best in local cuisine, as well as working with local suppliers from across the country to create a truly Welsh experience, while the festival’s website will also be available in both English and Welsh.

Escape Records Director Adam Gore told us……

“Our company was born out of the Cardiff nightclub scene, starting out hosting parties in the smallest venues in the city, to filling 3000 capacity venues on Greyfriars Road. We’ve since gone on to launch festivals all over Wales, but this will undoubtedly be our biggest project to date. We are incredibly proud of our Welsh roots and felt it only right that we make our biggest ever festival a true celebration of Wales and Welsh culture.”

The 50 Welsh artists are as follows (In Alphabetical order)

The organisers are confident In It Together will be all things to all people and offer a bespoke blend of Music, Arts & Culture. It will be a place which supports equality, inclusivity and sustainability whilst putting a spotlight on mental health and well-being and creating a safe space for all.

In It Together takes place on Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th June. The campsite will open at 9am on Friday 3rd June and will close at Midday on Monday 6th June. The festival site will be open from 12pm until midnight on Friday and from 10am until midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
