If you judge an event on the amount of people who turn out in support then the WWE CLASH AT THE CASTLE was beyond successful. Incidentally, there was 62,296 fans who turned up for the clash. If you add into that a phenomenal atmosphere, a perfectly planned and staged show and three days of city-wide WWE fun, then you can rightly claim that last night’s clash at the Principality Stadium went far beyond all expectations.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion ROMAN REIGNS defeated DREW MCINTYRE. Heading into the ring without The Bloodline, Roman was perhaps the most vulnerable he had been in his historic two-year championship reign.

WWE Universal Champion ROMAN REIGNS

Drew let his emotions get the better of him as he berated KARRION KROSS at ringside, which led to Roman gaining the upper hand. In the middle of the match, Roman grabbed the microphone, angrily telling Cardiff to “Acknowledge Me” before he was clobbered by a Glasgow Kiss from the challenger.

Roman notched his first two-count with a Rock Bottom to Drew. Roman then set up a Superman Punch but was countered with a Future Shock DDT. Drew tried to send Roman to Claymore Country, but in the end, Roman had a counter of his own, hitting the Superman Punch.

All eyes were on the main event, with boxing legend TYSON FURY at ringside to witness the first main event at a stadium show in the United Kingdom in over 30 years.

But in true WWE style, the event went way beyond what took place in the ring. The build up to the clash has been incredible, and for most of this last week the capital has been inundated with superstars and superfans as they waited for the clash to begin.

At the end of the show we took to the streets to see what the fans thought, and as you can see, they were united in their praise for the WWE UK return, with a plea to make it sooner rather than later next time……….

In the rest of the bouts, Seth “Freakin” Rollins overcame Matt Riddle, Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY scored a victory over Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss & Asuka, Intercontinental Champion Gunther defended his title against Sheamus, SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan triumphed over Shayna Baszler, and Edge & Rey Mysterio took down The Judgment Day, only to be betrayed by Dominik.

You can full details on all the matches on the WWE site HERE where’s there’s also more video and photo action from the Principality Stadium.

Undoubtedly the fans were there at the stadium for the WWE Superstars and the most incredible event to hit the capital for many years. We do want to give a little nod to TYSON FURY. We walked along the corridors beneath stadium with him and it was clear he was loving the atmosphere of the Clash as much as the 62,00o fans. So we had to share a couple of pictures of the great man last night.
