Theatre in the great outdoors is something very special and this summer sees the return of a packed programme of shows and concerts at Pembrey Country Park.
Carmarthenshire Theatres/Theatrau Sir Gâr will be entertaining us all from August 11th until 23rd. It really is a great line-up of family entertainment including a Proms in the Park event, Kids Comedy Club, children’s theatre, with live music from two amazing tribute acts, Shape of You – The Music of Ed Sheeran, and Woman Like Me – The Little Mix Show plus much more! An outdoor stage will be built at Pembrey Country Park especially for the event.
No seating is provided: instead, you can take your own outdoor chairs or blankets to sit on as part of this open-air theatre experience. Sunday 14th August is set to be a day of memorable musical fun for the whole family, as the Family Prom takes to the stage at 2.30pm. Featuring Broadway and West End star, Christina Bianco, West End star, Hugh Maynard and Britain’s Got Talent winner, Jai McDowall, with music performed by The Welsh Film Orchestra, the proms will feature family favourites and showstoppers from classic musicals.
Families are in for a treat on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th as LAStheatre’s The Rascally Diner comes to Pembrey, bringing a magical mix of mayhem and mischief to the park.
Friday 19th sees the music of one of the our best-loved singer-songwriters, as SHAPE OF YOU – The Music of Ed Sheeran takes to the stage. Familia de la Noche’s The Great Insect Games returns on Saturday 20th having delighted audiences last year, with a fun-filled bug-infested show for the whole family.
Saturday 20th also promises a laughter-filled evening, as Comedy Club in the Park – Kids entertains the little ones at 5pm and Comedy Club in the Park – Adults tickles fully-grown funny bones at 7.30pm. Sundays are a time to relax with family, so come along and enjoy a Picnic in the Park with special appearance from HEY DUGGEE!
There are picnics planned at 12pm and 3pm on Sunday 21st August. The Department of Strange Events will set up office at Pembrey on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd, with The Curious Case of Aberlliw. Live updates and tasks are received via an app and make for a fun, interactive experience for young detectives, available in English and Welsh.
WOMAN LIKE ME – The Little Mix Show arrives with a bang on Tuesday 23rd August at 7pm.
Fans of the award-winning girl band, will absolutely love this one. Woman Like Me will be bringing Little Mix’s best-loved hits to the Pembrey stage.
