Welsh Town Hit By Joke Outbreak

The usually bustling, vibrant market town of Abergavenny, know as Y Fenni by Welsh speakers, is the perfect starting point for the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Blaenavon World Heritage Site. Famed for its mountains, in particular Sugar Loaf, and its status as a bit of a foodie Mecca with it’s annual festival. Add to that the regular food and craft markets and attractions including Abergavenny Castle & Museum, St Mary’s Priory church, Tithe Barn, Market Hall, Borough Theatre and Castle Meadows, Abergavenny really is a must visit place for any local and tourist.

Like most of the rest of the country, Abergavenny is not only eerily quiet, with shops and businesses temporarily closed, but with very few pedestrians around, it really is a bit of a ghost town at the minute. Venture into the centre however, and you’ll be entertained by an outbreak of jokes which seem to adorn pretty much every shop window in the centre.

These go under the banner of #hopeImadeyousmile2020 and while the true identity of the phantom joker remains a mystery (we do have our suspicions however), we can tell you that PunMan (or woman) has made the few people walking through Abergavenny Town Centre Smile. Here at SOUTH WALES LIFE we thought it was our duty to share these with you so you can have a little chuckle during these trying times.

Here are more for you to enjoy…..
