As expected the snow arrived, with the realisation that it’s not quite the same this year. Being forced behind our own doors has robbed us of the things we love most about this weather. Climbing up a hill, jumping onto a sledge, or old bin bag, and hurtling down till we safely crash into a pile of snow at the bottom – thanks Covid.

For some, like young Logan from Skewen, Neath Port Talbot, it was the perfect opportunity to put on his new winter hat and gloves and get out and make his first ever snowball – heaven help his Mum.

Never have our gardens been such a welcoming place, at least the kids, and some very reluctant dogs can get out and enjoy what little covering we have right now.

Yesterday, the Met Office warned of snow in Wales, the yellow warning said an area of rain on Sunday could “readily” turn to snow. This morning, most of us woke up to a lovely snow covered landscape, but enjoy it while you can, it doesn’t look like it’ll last long.

So, while we can, it seems we’ve already been outside (back gardens) and enjoyed the snow. Not sure the dogs are great lovers though.
