If you’re expecting us to tell you this is a hot event then we aim to disappoint. This one is beyond hot, it is scorching. Back for a second year, the MARGAM PARK CHILLI FESTIVAL and MERTHYR STREET CHILLI FESTIVAL will bring you a day filled with chilli, nothing else, just chilli. Actually, there’ll be plenty for the whole family to enjoy too.
They will play host to some of the most well known chilli producers from all over the UK exhibiting only the best chilli products you’ll find. There’ll be mild to crazy extreme chilli sauces, Naga cooking sauces, chilli plants, chilli, chilli pastes, pickles, seeds, chilli dips, chilli beer, merchandise and more.
The event at Margam is indoors, although a few samples you’ll wish you were out, it will host around 20 exhibits with well over 100 types of chilli products to choose from, so there is something for everyone.
While you are being swept off your feet by the varieties of chilli products on exhibit the park will also have an onsite restaurant where you can quench your thirst and fill your tummy before returning for more chilli mayhem. You’ll also be able to walk around the beautiful park garden and if need be return again to the Orangery for more chilli, for which you are most welcome.
In Merthyr, along with exhibits, they will also have street food and surrounding the entire venue is a number of restaurants, cafes & bars for you to put your feet up. Apart from that there will also be a chilli eating contest which will held around 2 to 3pm.
This is what the organisers have lined up for us next year – you have been warned…..
- MILD TO HOT NAGA COOKING SAUCES
- MILD TO EXTREME HOT SAUCES, CHILLI JAM
- CHILLI PASTES
- CHILLI PICKLES
- CHILLI CHEESE
- CHILLI CHOCOLATE
- CHILLI MERCHANDISE
- WILD TO EXTREME CHILLI DIPS
- CHILLI SNACKS
- CHILLI SEEDS
- & LOTS MORE…
As you can see, there’s a lot of chilli going on.
What is different about these events is that they are free, you only need pay for the car park. The organisers say their events sometimes get compared to other pay to get in chilli events, but as the founder says…….
“I have no intention to create those kinds of events and I want to keep it free to the public. This still makes Chilli Fest UK events very different from the rest, our events are about chilli and nothing else, we won’t mix other genres in our events which are not chilli related. People come to Chilli Fest UK events to simply suffer pain.”
And they’re not joking. We’ve been to these events before and seen people sweat buckets as they munch their way through a variety of furnace like chillis.
