I guess we know Christmas really is coming when the famous Coca Cola truck appears on our screens but even more so when it rolls into town, and that’s precisely what’s happening in Cardiff this weekend.
The magic of the holiday season is set to sparkle even brighter with the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour, will be getting to St David’s Centre Cardiff on Sunday 22nd between 12noon and 8pm.
Bringing friends and family together to enjoy a magical moment of festive fun, the eagerly-anticipated tour will this year support FareShare, the UK’s biggest charity tackling food waste for social good.
This year, for every person that visits the Truck Tour, Coca-Cola will donate the equivalent of one meal to FareShare. As part of their ongoing partnership with FareShare, Coca-Cola have committed to donating the equivalent of 1 million meals this festive season. Since it began in 2017, Coca-Cola’s partnership with FareShare has provided 7 million surplus soft drinks to communities across the UK.
This year, the Coca-Cola Truck Tour focuses on the ambition to make kindness travel. Echoing the wider Coca-Cola Christmas campaign message, “The World Needs More Santas”, the tour will encourage visitors to embrace their inner Santa and share an act of kindness with others during the festive season.
Under a canopy of twinkling lights and festive music, visitors will be able to enjoy fun, festive games, participate in a lucky dip with the chance to win exclusive Coca-Cola merchandise and experience a festive food truck that will serve up delicious seasonal tastes alongside an ice-cold Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, all whilst capturing that perfect seasonal selfie in front of the iconic red truck.
Across 14 locations on the tour, anyone who visits the Coca-Cola Truck will have one meal donated on their behalf, allowing FareShare to continue redistributing surplus food to 8,000 charities and community groups across the UK. These groups include community centres, faith groups, homelessness shelters, refuges, and schools, all working hard to support people in need. Food is used to bring people together, strengthening communities and helping people access vital support services.
Over the festive period, Coca-Cola will also be supporting FareShare through on-pack and wholesale promotions. Between Wednesday 4 and Tuesday 17 December, Coca-Cola will donate the equivalent of one meal for every Coca-Cola Zero Sugar or Diet Coke 24 x 330ml pack sold, with a maximum of 175,000 meals gifted. They’ll also donate up to another 300,000 meals by giving £1 for every case of 12 x 500ml Diet Coke sold at participating wholesalers throughout December.
Kirsty Ford, Head of Fundraising at FareShare told us…..
“We are so grateful to Coca-Cola for their continued support for FareShare. These invaluable donations help us get good-to-eat food to the people who need it rather than going to waste. Every day, the food we redistribute to a network of over 8,000 charities in every region helps to strengthen communities.
Coca-Cola’s generous support for FareShare is instrumental in helping people affected by the cost of living crisis. This support means charities can unite more people through food to form connections and access essential support services. Thank you for helping FareShare make the food go further.”
Florence Wheatley, Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola Great Britain Coca-Cola added….
“Coca-Cola has and remains synonymous with Christmas, with many people eagerly awaiting the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour and Holidays Are Coming advert to create a little festive magic.
This year, we’re delighted to continue our relationship with FareShare to support its mission to reduce hunger and surplus food waste. We hope that every person that attends the Truck Tour not only experiences the magic of Coca-Cola Christmas, but also supports FareShare, knowing that the equivalent of a meal has been donated on their behalf, acting as a little moment of kindness to ensure that thousands of people across the country enjoy a more meaningful Christmas.”

Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour, will be getting to St David’s Centre Cardiff on Sunday 22nd between 12noon and 8pm.
Over the last eleven years, the ever-popular truck tour has seen thousands of Christmas fans visit the famous vehicle, generating over 60,000 festive photos. It has travelled more than 800,000 miles – the equivalent of 30 times around the world – twinkling its 8,772 fairy lights and playing the iconic ‘Holidays are Coming’ jingle.
The iconic Coca-Cola commercial first came out in 1995 and has slowly transformed itself as a staple of the holiday season. If you haven’t seen the commercial, it goes a bit like this.
The truck drives through the mountains and it seems as if the truck itself never ends. In fact it almost looks like an ongoing train of Coca-Cola-filled 18-wheelers. After looking over the mountains and seeing all of the trucks, it finally reaches the end, revealing Santa on the back of the final truck raising a toast with a bottle of Coca-Cola.
