New musical HERE YOU COME AGAIN, based on Dolly Parton’s songs, is heading to the Wales Millennium Centre this summer on its first ever tour of the UK.
The show was originally written by multi-Emmy award-winning BRUCE VILANCH, with GABRIEL BARRE and TRICIA PAOLUCCIO (who also plays Dolly. It has now been adapted by acclaimed British TV and theatre writer JONATHAN HARVEY, who has a mighty fine list of work behind him including Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Beautiful Thing, Coronation Street).
The musical tells the story of a diehard Dolly Parton fan, who uses her music to get himself through difficult times. And it’s those incredible songs which will be front and centre in this musical.
All of those iconic Dolly favourites are there, Jolene, 9 to 5, Islands in the Stream, I Will Always Love You, Here You Come Again and so many more. With her wit, humour and charm, Dolly teaches him a whole lot about life, love and how to pull yourself up by your bootstraps…even if your bootstraps don’t have rhinestones!

Director Gabriel Barre told us…..
“We are so excited to bring this gem of a show to the UK, following its successful regional tour in America. Setting it in the UK with a brilliant new British actor playing the lead role of Kevin, along with a creative UK design team, gives us a chance to take a fresh approach to a story that features all of Dolly’s biggest hits, along with her wit and wisdom, which the world needs today, more than ever.
She will be gloriously brought to life by the American actor, Tricia Paoluccio, who has been stunning audiences everywhere, embodying the spirit, humour, and heart that have made Dolly an enduring icon.”
Here You Come Again gets to the Wales Millennium Centre from Tuesday 27th through to Saturday 31st August. Performances are at 7:30pm each evening with a 2:30pm matinee on Thursday and Saturday. It’s nice that it plays here before heading into the West End for a stint there. Tickets start at £18 and you can get more details HERE.
