Barry Festival of Light

Back by popular demand, this year’s Festival of Light will be held over 10 days, and feature majestic mirror balls, a neon ribbon and animal trail, a light show, an enchanted fairy garden and more!

‍In 2021, the Festival was attended by over 12,000 people and was a huge success. A Family Ticket (up to 5 people) costs £1.50 + booking fee.

The Festival is organised in partnership between the Vale of Glamorgan Council and Barry Town Council and promises to be an unforgettable and magical experience for all the family to enjoy.

Parking Information

The Festival of Light is held in Central Park which is close to residential areas. Please ensure you are respectful of residents and aim to use the public car parks that are available wherever possible.

Car Parks Available

Wyndham Street Car Park – CF63 4EL (Parking is FREE for the first 2 hours)

Court Road Multi-story Car Park – CF63 4AF ( FREE parking)

Q. Is there food and drink?

A. Yes! There will be sweet treats and hot drinks available both on King’s Square and in Central Park, plus this year, the Christmas Market will be on Kings Square and open throughout the event.

Q. How do I get to the event?

A. Barry Festival of Light is accessed from King’s Square via Holton Road. If possible, please access the event on foot or via public transport as parking in this area is very limited.

Q. What time should I arrive?

A. Please arrive at the time stated on your ticket

Q. What if I miss the arrival time on my ticket?

A. Please do your best to arrive at the time stated on your ticket. However, if you are running a little late – this shouldn’t be a problem!

Q. Can I change my ticket?

A. I am afraid that we are unable to transfer tickets booked for this event.

Q. Can I Swap my ticket for another date or time?

A. I am afraid due to the nature and demand of the event tickets are non-transferrable.

Q. What should I wear?

A. Please wrap up warm and bring your brollies if it’s raining as this experience is outdoors. The ground may be uneven underfoot so we advise wearing outdoor shoes.

Q. Is the event wheelchair accessible?

A. yes, this event is wheelchair accessible

Q. Can we bring buggies and pushchairs?

A. Yes although space at this event is limited so we advise using baby carries if possible.

Q. Can I bring my dog?

A. Our furry friends are not allowed in the park, they will need to stay home for this one.

Q. Do you allow refunds?

A. Refunds are only permitted up to one day before the event. Refunds will not be issued once the event has started (from 4.30 pm on Friday, 2 December).
