About Womankind Yoga – Celebrating 10 years!

Womankind Yoga was founded by Experienced Yoga Teacher, Helen Wilson, (500hr Yoga Alliance Professionals UK), in 2013.

Helen turned to yoga in her mid-twenties, towards the end of a high-pressure career in the news media, as a way to help cope with stress, anxiety, depression and CPTSD. What followed was been a 16 year journey of self-discovery and personal development at which yoga is at the heart.

She began yoga teacher training under Indian yoga master Yogacharya Jnandev and Yogacharini Deepika at Yoga Satsanga Ashram, West Wales, in 2013. After attaining her 500hr certificate, accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals, Helen has now gone on to complete over 800hrs of training, including in pregnancy yoga, Advanced Yoga Study at The Green House School of Yoga with Sama Fabian, Trauma Informed Yoga and Restorative Yoga.

Helen is a registered and insured Experienced Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals. This accreditation demonstrates excellent standards as set by Yoga Alliance Professionals..

She aims to help people discover inner peace, balance, space and strength, through hatha yoga (asana) and movement, complimented by pranayama (breathwork) and meditation.

Classes are not focused on making the body look good – but helping students to feel more connected to the inner needs and experience as individuals. Within this we find more space, strength and release in our physical selves.
