South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus: The Good, The Bad And the Truly Outrageous!

It’s our 15th anniversary this year and we’re excited to bring you our latest concert The Good, The Bad and the Truly Outrageous.Led by our fantastic Musical Director, Chris Fossey, this promises to be a great evening of song, themed around heroes and villains and of course, we’ll add our usual sprinkling of camp. Singing everything from David Bowie and Pet Shop Boys, through to Radiohead and even James Bond – there’s something for everyone.

We’re giving a very warm Welsh welcome to our guest choir, Bristol Gay Men’s Chorus, who will also delight you with their set. You’ll notice that we’ve moved to a new venue St Andrew’s URC which has a fantastic community engagement reputation and we’re very happy to be performing here. We’ll be running a bar at the venue but seats aren’t numbered so make sure you arrive in plenty of time to get a drink and take your pew!

Diolch am ymuno ‘da ni – Thank you for joining us.

The South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus began life in February 2008 when its founder member (Music Director Andrew Bulleyment) decided a gay choir for the South Wales area was long overdue. Over the 14 years since the choir has been on a wild ride, becoming a recognised and respected part of the gay community in Cardiff and South Wales, attending numerous national and international festivals, and hosting one of our own at the Hand in Hand LGBT Choral Festival in 2019.

Before our 10th Anniversary Concert at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff.

Along the way our crowning achievement might well have to be becoming festival champions at Cornwall International Male Choral Festival (the worlds largest amateur male voice festival) in 2017. Incidentally if you are so inclined you can watch the (also award winning) documentary Côr Blimey about this extraordinary journey on our videos page.
