He’s the Cardiff boy who rose to fame for his role as Joseph in the Andrew Lloyd Webber, Time Rice Musical, which saw a revival at the London Palladium in 2019.
JAC YARROW got himself an Olivier Award nomination for his performance, and gained a whole army of new fans for JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT, which gets to the New Theatre in Cardiff this week, but only till Saturday. You can get all the details in our special feature HERE.
Jac literally jumped into the spotlight while he was working towards his final degree. He began his professional training at Arts Ed where he stayed for the three year musical theatre course, eventually graduating in 2019 (being marked while he was on stage on opening night).
In his final year of studies, Jac played Jack Kelly in the UK premiere of Newsies. During that show he was scouted to play Joseph in the 2019 Palladium revival and got the role so many have dreamed of, including himself.
Since taking on the role he’s worked with the likes of former Joseph icon Jason Donovan who took on the role of the Pharaoh and Sheridan Smith as the Narrator, now being played by ALEXANDRA BURKE.
So, as our South Wales lad done good is heading back home with this London Palladium production, we thought we’d grab him for a quick chat to see how the tour is going.
First of all, we wondered how excited he was at the prospect of playing Joseph at the New Theatre in Cardiff……..
Although we talk about Jason Donovan during our interview, it is BOBBY WINDEBANK who will taking on the role of Pharaoh in Cardiff. Best of luck Bobby, we’re looking forward to seeing you.
