They always put on a good show at Chepstow Racecourse and this summer we reckon it’s about as big as it gets. James Arthur will be performing live after racing in June and we have a feeling tickets will go as fast as winner down the final straight.
Incredibly it’s almost 8 years since James won X Factor and what a win it was. After winning the ninth series his debut single, a cover of Shontelle’s “Impossible”, was released by Syco Music after the final, and debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart. Since then, it has gone on to sell over 2.5 million copies worldwide, making it the most successful winner’s single in the show’s history.
We love this acoustic version of the song…….
The follow-up single, “You’re Nobody ’til Somebody Loves You”, was another top five hit. He released his self-titled debut studio album in November 2013. The album debuted and peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart. He parted ways with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco in 2014. He was later re-signed to Syco in 2016. We’re sure James would be the first to agree that the comeback led to some of the best songs of his career.
After surpassing a staggering 1 billion streams, the song above “Say You Won’t Let Go” went on to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide. In addition, his album “Back From The Edge” went straight to No.1 and has now gone multi-platinum worldwide. As for the current album YOU, it’s another career defining collection of songs, including the current single “Quite Miss Home”
So I think it’s fair to say we really can’t wait for him to take the stage at Chepstow for an extraordinary evening. The Chepstow gig will come off the back of a full on 6 months for James as his tour takes him through Madrid, Warsaw, Budapest, Paris, New York and finally here in South Wales.
