This is one movie which has had more reschedules than any other. We were so close to seeing NO TIME TO DIE, the latest in the James Bond franchise, then the pandemic struck, our cinemas closed, and we had to endure a long wait for it to return.
In the brand new instalment in one of the world’s most successful and enduring film franchises, British secret agent James Bond (Daniel Craig) has left active service, and is enjoying a well-earned break in Jamaica.
His short-lived peace is shattered, however, when his old friend, CIA agent Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), asks for his help to bring down a mysterious villain (Academy Award® winner Rami Malek) in possession of a dangerous new technology.
With familiar faces such as Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q), Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann) and Christoph Waltz (Blofeld) all back in action, the return of James Bond is a long overdue cause for celebration.
And here is the final international trailer…..
There is of course the Bond Theme song too, which has been and gone because of the delay.
Billie Eilish recorded NO TIME TO DIE and it’s everything you’d expect from a Bond theme while still capturing Billie’s unique voice and style. It’s a real grower. Turn your device up loud, enjoy the song (again) and get ready for the movie.
As with most Bond theme songs they make even more sense when you watch them in the context of the film, and this from Billie does just that – it fits perfectly.
Here’s Billie talking to Ryan Seacrest at the Grammy Awards about how she set about writing and recording the Bond Theme.
When the movie was originally scheduled for release, America aired a fantastic trailer during Super Bowl. Along side that however, and something else the Super Bowl viewers were treated too, was an exclusive advert.
We are not paid by anyone for this and it is not a sponsor endorsement on our behalf. They saw it, so we reckon we should too. And you thought Bond drank a Vodka Martini, a Vesper Martini or even indulged in a bottle of Bollinger – it would appear not.
James Bond 25, NO TIME TO DIE is open right now, and you can expect busy cinemas for at least the next few weeks. We reckon an early booking might be the way to go. We’ve waited a long time for this one.
Just two things to say in closing.
First, this is a long film, very long and markedly different to any previous Bond outing. There’s a lot of elements to pull together for Daniel Craig’s Bond, and in No Time To Die, that’s exactly what they do.
Secondly, and we think this is the most important point – DON’T LET ANYONE SPOIL THE MOVIE FOR YOU. No more to say other than going in with no ideas or where it’s going to go will make it all the more enjoyable and complete.
And finally, to really get you in the mood, here’s the full set of movie posters to enjoy.
