As retro festivals go this one is right up there with the best of them, with a line up which keep you entertained, and singing, from start to finish.

The much-loved festival series runs all the way through to Let’s Rock Norwich on August 19th, taking in locations all over the UK and reaching an audience of well over 100,000+ people. A celebration of all things pop and ‘80s, Let’s Rock offers gloriously unpretentious non-stop fun, with legendary musicians performing hit after hit to a crowd of all ages, many of whom come dressed in their finest ‘80s fashion. Each festival features two headline acts plus a host of stars from the era when pop ruled the world.

Let’s Rock Wales Saturday 27th May

LET’S ROCK WALES pulls into Bute Park in Cardiff today (Saturday 27th May) for a day of amazing music that you’ll never forget. I do have a little bit of a confession here, I’ve actually seen each and every one of the acts on the South Wales bill (first time around).

So, who have we got headlining in the Park this year – Say Hello, it’s SOFT CELL. But it most certainly doesn’t stop there: WET WET WET, TONY HADLEY, IMAGINATION, NIK KERSHAW, GO WEST, JOBOXERS, HEATHER SMALL, HEATWAVE, HUE & CRY, FIVE STAR + many more. Actually, I can tell you the many more – HOLLYWOOD BEYOND, JUNIOR GISCOMBE, JANET KAY, NEAL X of SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK, LIVIN JOY and BLANCMANGE.

Electronic music pioneers MARC ALMOND & DAVE BALL (Soft Cell) have sold over 10million albums worldwide and enjoyed twelve UK Top 40 hits in the early ‘80s, including their mega global No.1 smash “Tainted Love” plus further Top 5 singles “Bedsitter”, “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye” and “Torch.”

The duo reformed in 2018 to play a stunning sold-out reunion show at London’s 02, swiftly followed by the release of the duo’s first album of new material in two decades, the critically acclaimed ‘*Happiness Not Included.’ November 2021 saw Soft Cell celebrate the 40th anniversary of their legendary 1981 debut album ‘Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret,’ touring and playing it in full for the very first time. Soft Cell’s debut Let’s Rock summer 2023 headline shows will be their first outdoor festival shows since 2003.

Marc and Dave told us…..

“We are delighted to be headlining so many Let’s Rock festivals in 2023. We’re playing Wales, Northern Ireland, Shrewsbury, Exeter, and Southampton for the first time ever as Soft Cell, as well as in our spiritual home of Leeds, and look forward to seeing everyone at this great festival.”

If you haven’t come across the LET’S ROCK events before, then shame on you. These guys have been doing this since 2009 and should definitely be on anyone’s ‘Must Do’ list. They are all about family-friendly music festivals with a retro blast of the very best of the 80s!

Any excuse to bring out the old 80s wardrobe and wear it with pride.

You can take a look back at one of the previous events in Bristol HERE.

The line up for the day is seemingly endless and if you want to see exactly who is performing, at any of the venues, go HERE.

As for the tickets, well like most festivals there’s a range of options. From kids tickets through to VIP, even VIP toilets, all of them guaranteed to give you a great time, some of them providing a little more, luxury shall we say. But with a whole range of prices, there really is something for everyone.

I can tell you that the Sold Out banner will start appearing pretty quickly, so you’ll need to be fast.

And as you can see, you don’t have to be an 80s kid to enjoy the 80s music and fun.

LET’S ROCK WALES gets to Bute Park in Cardiff today (Saturday 27th May). Tickets are available now, and if you’d like to get yours, go HERE.
