Loneliness and social isolation are conditions that are difficult to identify, complex to address and hard to resolve.
Loneliness can affect people at any age, and can be unpleasant and distressing for many people, however, spending time with others, in a safe and friendly setting, can often make a huge difference in out lives.
Of course, you don’t have to be on your own to be lonely. Partners could be away, working for the day, or perhaps you spend your time with younger children, depriving you of adult interaction.
Pontypridd Town Council have a fantastic scheme to help combat this. The Monday Meet Up is a welcoming, warm space to come and enjoy some company, relax, play games, watch films with free hot drinks, soup and warm snacks.
Head along to Pontypridd Museum anytime between 11am and 5.30pm every Monday, from January 9th onwards to join their WARM SPACES.
In fact Pontypridd will have many friendly warm spaces open in the New Year. With different days, times and locations, there should hopefully be somewhere for everyone, that is easily accessible. These spaces provide a warm welcome to all.
We’ve added the full list of venues and times for January on the second poster.
