Swimming is probably the furthest thing from your mind at the moment, but if you’re like us in the SOUTH WALES LIFE office, you’ll be thinking ‘this year we’ll be more active.’ So, with that in mind, let’s introduce to the MONMOUTH GREAT WYE SWIM.
The event is now being put together by Angela Jones and Run Wild. She’s a sports coach-teacher specialising in running, swimming and kayaking and the underlying strengthening and technique required to learn, improve and excel in these activities. She’s been swimming this stretch of the River Wye for over 30 years and is highly qualified and insured.
Once registered, you set off at noon to tackle a short 1km downstream course or a more challenging long 2km course, which includes 500m upstream.
There are 3 distances including:
- 2KM Swim (includes 500M upstream) £30pp
- 1KM Swim £25pp
- New! 500M Taster Swim and Fun Float Swim £20pp
Early bird entrants (those who enter before 31st January 2020) get the opportunity of a free guided recce of the swim route on Sunday 3rd May with Angela. Time slots available at 10am and 2pm.
You will be required to complete an entry / waiver form which you will need to return in advance of the event or during registration on the morning of the event (between 10am – 11am). You can download a copy of the form here. FORM
