Oh, what’s occurin? Nothing untoward if Nessa has anything to do with it. If you have even considered for a moment breaking the social distancing guidelines then think again. Forget warnings or police fines, with Nessa on the case she is all we need to keep us in check.

Gavin and Stacey favourite Nessa has reiterated the message in the current pandemic. The appearance was a much needed surprise and was aimed at those who may forget to keep their distance when out for daily exercise. In fact, if you are a resident of Barry, make sure you keep out of her way when she goes for her daily ‘marathon’ run around the town.

Ruth Jones delivered the video on Instagram, and in true Nessa style, let all her favourite phrases flow in the space of a few lines.

“Oh, what’s occurring? Not a lot – other than a global pandemic – but the question was rhetorical.”

“Because at the end of the day, when all is said and done, no word of a lie if truth be told, just because you don’t feel ill don’t mean you’re not infectious, you could be riddled.”

“Stay safe, stay out of my way and protect the  NHS, obviously it goes without saying.”

What has been very special about this challenging period of lockdown is that we’ve been able to enjoy a few of our trusted favourites who have made a welcome return.

As part of the BBC’s Big Night In, Dawn French resurrected Geraldine as part of Vicar Of Dibley quarantine special. Earlier in the show, the Miranda cast made a special appearance over Zoom.

There is something strangely comforting having these faces pop up on our screens, none more so that Nessa of course. Just one thing us SOUTH WALES LIFE chaos noticed, Nessa’s fingers were covered by black gloves, so we didn’t catch any sight of an engagement ring, if indeed there is one Ruth – we need to know Ruth, please.

Incidentally, Ruth Jones book tour, which was scheduled for a round now has got new dates.
