Caerphilly County Borough Council’s annual ‘Operation Santa’ appeal launches today and will remain open until Friday 27th November.
Hundreds of children across the borough are at risk of not receiving a gift this Christmas. Operation Santa aims to provide presents to those nominated by their social workers.
They’re asking residents to pledge cash via the fundraising page to ensure local children will receive gifts in time for the big day.
The pledge line provides a quick and easy way for generous groups and individuals to pledge cash for a child this Christmas. All you need to do is visit the donation page HERE.

If you want to purchase a gift voucher, please do not wrap the voucher, place it into an envelope and ensure it is clearly marked with the information below:
- Title the envelope as ‘Operation Santa’
- Value of voucher/gift card
Please limit the value of each individual voucher/gift card to £10. The unwrapped gift cards need to be taken to a collection centre by Friday 29th November. The collection centres are as follows:
- Bargoed Library (CF81 8QR)
- Blackwood Library (NP12 1AJ)
- Caerphilly Library (CF83 1JL)
- Newbridge Library (NP11 4FH)
- Rhymney Library (NP22 5NU)
- Risca Library (NP11 6BW)
- Ystrad Mynach Library (CF82 7BB)
Alternatively, you can make a pledge by calling 01443 815588 or emailing operationsanta@caerphilly.gov.uk.
Cllr Teresa Heron, Cabinet Member for Social Care told us…..
“Operation Santa brings joy and festive cheer to children and families across the county borough, helping to make Christmas a special time of year. This fantastic appeal relies on the kindness and generosity of our local residents and businesses, whose continued support makes such a positive difference.
On behalf of Caerphilly County Borough Council, I would like to thank everyone who continues to support Operation Santa. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to seeing the appeal make a difference to children across our communities once again”.
