Pontypridd Residents, and beyond, had the most amazing start to the August Bank Holiday weekend with a fun-filled family event put together by Pontypridd Town Council. They claimed it was their its biggest event yet, and from what we saw in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, that was more than true.

All the things you’d expect in the shape of activities and entertainment was lined up for the SUMMER FUN DAY with a few really nice interactive surprises thrown in for good measure, namely Circus Avago, which is exactly what it says in the title.

What was particularly nice about this event, especially with pennies being harder to find for all of us, is that everything (bar the food) was free, including the children’s fun fair rides. I have to say, it really was a fantastic event, which seemed to clear away the stress the pandemic brought to all of us over the last few years.

The bright sunshine helped too as you can see in our look back at the day here. A big thanks to all the staff and residents for taking time to chat to us.

PONTYPRIDD SUMMER FUN DAY

As you can see in our film, there was so much to do with a children’s funfair, arena acts, a music stage, a petting farm, food stalls, sporting activities, face-painting and balloon art and much more will be on offer. The Town Council’s popular vintage transport rally also returned, with a parade of vintage vehicles though the town centre and an exhibition in the park.

Local radio station GTFM was also on site all day broadcasting from the event.

Even though the event is now finished we’ve left the download for the Fun Day timetable so you can see what you have to look forward to next year. Just click on the link below.
