Like most businesses the Celtic Manor Resort have effectively shut up normal business in the light of Government guidelines and restrictions. They have however been supportive of those who need accommodation. Coldra Court Hotel remains open for key workers and essential travel only, serving room service dinner and breakfast.

This week they have also paid tribute to our amazing NHS Staff in the most uniques fashion. If you were driving along the M4 you may just have caught glimpse of the special memorial, if not, this is how they did it.

It is yet another way we have all come together to recognise the outstanding work our carers are doing. Everything from the regular Thursday ‘Clap For Carers.’ The amazing pictures our children are drawing and putting up on display all across the country. And even getting the single ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone”, which features the NHS Voices of Care Choir, to number one.

Mindful of the fact that customers and staff are unable to use the Celtic Manor Resort facilities, they have come up with safe and imaginative ways to keep the Welsh flag flying above the property at Coldra Woods.

They are staging weekly Facebook/Instagram live concerts, and this week a DJ Set to get us all in the weekend party mood. They are also providing food for those of us who want to treat ourselves to something a little more than our regular takeaway.

Staff too are joining in with the weekly Clap For Carers and posting messages each Thursday.

Ian Edwards is the Chief Executive of the Celtic Collection he has sent a message to all guests and members and on the Resort website has given an update of the situation……

We are really missing laying on a warm Welsh welcome to you, our valued guests, but The Celtic Collection has to remain closed for now… so that we can all enjoy catching up later.

We are very much looking forward to the day we can open our doors again and we will continue to monitor the latest Government advice on travel, while making preparations to ensure you are in the safest hands when you are able to return.

At the moment, we hope to reopen from 4th July but this will, of course, depend on the updated information and guidelines to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Our Coldra Court hotel remains open for NHS staff and key workers.

We are pleased to hear that many of you are looking forward to brighter days ahead and making plans to visit as soon as it is possible. You can keep in touch with the latest developments on our website and our social media channels to assist you with your future planning.

Please stay safe and stay in touch, we look forward to seeing you soon.

For your information, future bookings from 4th July 2020 onwards can be made online with a promise they will be flexible with future bookings and any new bookings made up to the 31st July 2020, can be changed or cancelled without charge.

If you have one of the Resort vouchers with expiry dates between 23rd March to 30th June 2020 will be automatically extended to 30th September 2020.

All golf courses at the Celtic Manor Resort remain closed for the time being and are not expected to reopen before 1st June, pending any further changes in the Government advice.

They have been working on a strategy to ensure that when they do reopen the courses, they do so in a way that ensures the safety and welfare of their team, members and visitors.

In terms of the golf courses, the estates team have only recently been permitted to carry out essential maintenance during the COVID-19 lockdown. When the courses do reopen in future, it is expected to take some time for the courses to return to ‘normal’ playing condition. The impact of this is likely to include reduced pace of greens due to higher cutting heights, higher cutting heights across all areas and some untidy bunkers.

We feel sure however that once things begin to return to normal (if there will ever be a normal as we knew it), the courses will look as good as they always have.
