If you were at the TAKE THAT gig last year, there’s a chance to relive every song, costume and amazing moment. To celebrate 30 years, they filmed the last date of the Greatest Hits Live Tour at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. It was a fitting climax to the ‘second chapter’ of the bands astonishing life in music!
Those of us lucky to be at the gig were taken on a re-imagined Greatest Hits journey in all their live glory. During the tour, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald marked 30 years of the band and the Cardiff show was the only one in the UK which was broadcast live in cinemas across the country. It’s that show which is out now so fans can watch it again and again, which we’re sure you will.
It was greatest hits all the way, which was heavenly music to the ears of the almost 80,000 fans who packed the Principality Stadium. Lulu made her seemingly regular appearance for ‘Relight My Fire’ and video footage of Robbie Williams for ‘Everything Changes. The whole show was filled with the songs we could sing -a-long too, which is what we’ve come to expect on a Take That gig.
A Million Love Songs, Sure, Love Ain’t Here Anymore, How Deep Is Your Love and Patience. The band were also joined on stage by Cardiff choir CF1 for a rousing rendition of Never Forget.
Im sure you need a bit of TT music to keep you going while you read this, so here’s a little video history of a few of their greatest…..
As usual fans travelled, camped and waited patiently to get to the front. There is something about a TT fan, they are loyal and passionate but most of all, an incredibly friendly bunch.
Gary’s vocals were bang on, as always, and actually, they are a band and even though five are now three, they have lost none of the charisma and stage presence they always had. For most of us, this gig was one of these best. Yes, it was full-on, the set was amazing and it looked incredible. This tour though was all about the music. The songs we grew up with and we enjoyed every single one of them again – live.
TAKE THAT – ODYSSEY: GREATEST HITS LIVE is out now and we, like most of you will have it on repeat.
