As we have one last fling with the summer weather, we can begin to look forward to Autumn and the nights drawing in. And THE IVY, CARDIFF have the perfect treat in store for us to enjoy.
Now we say look forward, because people usually get excited about the long hot summer months, but for us here in the SOUTH WALES LIFE office, autumn really is where the best action happens. Think about it – we certainly know what we’re going to get from the weather over the next few months. There’s all the new TV Series coming up on our planners, Bake Off, X Factor and Strictly, and let’s be honest, after endless repeats we really need them.
We carve up a Halloween treat with a pumpkin, go a little bonfire night crazy with the fireworks, then of course get all toasty in front of the fire. None of these enforced hot summer nights, the air is cool and crisp and we decide what we wear to keep us warm.
Best of all however, our favourite restaurants roll out the autumn menu, and we can look forward to some fantastic food after a refreshing walk, wrapped up in our cosy knitwear.
I think you’ve guessed by now that we love the autumn.
Based in the heart of the city, The Ivy Cardiff offer a stylish setting to enjoy the delicious new dishes, which are all available now.
We can look forward to a selection of mouth-watering starters including a delicious beetroot carpaccio with a rich Cabernet Sauvignon dressing, horseradish sauce, blackberries and hazelnuts. Tempting mains include a roasted butternut squash risotto, with grilled goat’s cheese, sage and watercress – guaranteed to get you in the autumn mood.
The new seasonal menu features two tempting new desserts, including the classic Tiramisu and Fig and Pistachio feuilleté, complemented with a refreshing yoghurt sorbet and cream.
Beetroot Carpaccio – £7.50
Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto – £12.95
