The Royal Mint Experience – Reopens

596

Following months of lockdown, we are all searching for things to do, we reckon a visit to THE ROYAL MINT EXPERIENCE is jus the thing. For a fun day out in South Wales, the Experience not only offers really popular exhibitions and tours but also has a range of fun events, suitable for all ages.

As one of Wales’ best visitor attractions, their events calendar includes storytelling workshops, design a coin workshops, historical talks from guest speakers and coin hunts.

The mint is now open, but for the foreseeable future, it won’t quite be business as usual. We can assure you however, that what they have in store during your visit is priceless.

There are also some changes to the way the different areas at The Royal Mint Experience are working. You’ll also see clear signage from the moment you arrive, and the visitor hosts are there to help if you’re unsure of anything during your visit.

While they were closed they had a busy few months at The Royal Mint Experience to kickstart reopening in the best way possible. Now they are back, they have a packed programme ahead. We should remind you, pre-booking is essential and obviously spaces will fill up quickly.

For example, join Nathanial the Narrator as you follow the story of PADDINGTON AT THE TOWER.

Children will play a game of ‘Paddington says’, prepare their marmalade sandwiches for ‘elvenses’, join Paddington on his mystery outing on the bus, and build and take a tour of the tower!

To take part, you will need 3 boxes, a blanket, some marmalade (or jam, but Paddington definitely prefers marmalade!), bread, a ball and a drink.

Find out how to build a working shadow puppet theatre from Lego® bricks! Join Bricks McGee in this live demonstration and follow along to create your own theatrical masterpiece.

You’ll need a sheet or two of paper (A4 size should be fine), a pile of Lego® bricks and minifigures, and a torch or smartphone with a light feature.

You can also train to be a Knight of King Arthur’s Round Table with Sir Royce and save Guinevere from the evil Sir Parentalot!

In the latest instalment of their Facebook Live events, children will learn about the story of King Arthur while learning to ride a horse with Sir Royce, build a fort to shelter from Sir Parentalot, fire arrows to defend the fort, engage Sir Parentalot and save Guinevere.

To join in, you will need some boxes or cushions, a blanket and a ball (football would be ideal).

As for the Royal Mint itself, if you are looking for things to do with the family or with friends this weekend or in the coming weeks or months, check out the events calendar and give the Royal Mint Experience a visit very soon!

While you’re on their site, make sure the kids head to their section. There is so much on offer, it’ll keep them amused and entertained for hours. KIDS

Money is Fun…

We use it everyday. Money is such an important part of our lives and yet the actual ‘cash’ the coins themselves, we take for granted. This is why a trip to the Royal Mint Experience is so fascinating.

Show Me The Money…
