In these difficult times it is always nice to report a positive step with our South Wales hospitality industry. THE TWO RIVERS at Chepstow officially opens its doors earlier this month after unveiling a brand-new look and feel and reinvigorated menu ahead of the New Year. Much to the delight of locals, and the many reviews we’ve seen popping up.

The country pub and lodge hosted an exclusive VIP event a few weeks ago where local media and influencers had the opportunity to toast the new opening over a selection of delicious new drinks and sample the carefully-chosen new menu, full of British pub favourites and exciting new classics, ahead of the official opening, Friday 10th December.

In addition to an authentic pub experience, guests were also provided with an opportunity to take an exclusive sneak peek at the newly renovated lodge with fresh furnishings.

The Two Rivers is one of those unique local country pubs, to stand in the most beautiful of surroundings. Situated at the foot of the Wye Valley, it’s not only a great place to meet and stay, but exploring the area is definitely recommended. It’s around one mile from the historic town of Chepstow, close to the A48 and a short distance from the Severn Crossing.

There is so much to do during your stay with the lively town of Chepstow bringing together the best of ancient and modern. A major medieval powerhouse, its Norman castle is built at a strategic point overlooking the River Wye.

You can shop till your hearts content on the lovely High Street. Storm the Castle – Chepstow’s Great Tower keep was commissioned by William the Conqueror barely a year after the Battle of Hastings, making Chepstow Castle Britain’s oldest surviving post-Roman stone castle.

Chepstow Port Wall, built in the 13th century, used to have a main gate with a portcullis, where toll collectors would extract taxes from anyone bringing merchandise into town. The gate that stands today is a comparative youngster at a measly 500 years old – and you can now stroll through for free, no matter what you’re carrying.

The 23-room Two Rivers lodge is comfortable, well-appointed and right next door to the restaurant, making it a favourite for those visiting the town.

Liam Brace, General Manager at The Two Rivers at Chepstow told us……

“We’re so excited to finally open our ‘new’ doors to the local community of Chepstow. The team has been working hard to ensure everything in the lead up to the opening ran smoothly.

“We’ve had some incredible feedback from the community so far and can’t wait for everyone to come down and experience the new setting and menu for themselves.”

THE TWO RIVERS in Chepstow is open from midday seven days a week, closing at 11pm and at 10.30pm on Sundays. You can get more information HERE.
