Ahead of the big game at the weekend, now seemed like the perfect moment to drop in on Cardiff’s newest hotel – THE PARKGATE.
The 170-bed hotel, which opened this week, is located in the heart of Cardiff and is housed in an original heritage building that was once the city’s head post office and county court. The Parkgate Hotel marries stylish innovation with the elegance of yesteryear and is conveniently situated next to the Principality Stadium, the home of Welsh rugby.
The hotel benefits from an on-site restaurant, tea lounges and a rooftop spa. It has two event spaces, The Postmaster Suite and The Telegraph Room. Holding up to 432 delegates, The Postmaster Suite is suitable for hosting larger meetings and dinners and benefits from its own private pre-event bar area.
The Parkgate forms part of The Celtic Collection, a prestigious family of experience-focused UK business and leisure destinations. Other properties in the portfolio include the iconic Celtic Manor Resort and the Coldra Court Hotel.
Of course, it’s much better to have a look around, which is exactly what we did, as they were going through some final preparations before a busy weekend.
We spoke to the hotel General Manager BRADY SMITH, who told us about this iconic building, shared plans for the future, and of course, his excitement at what is going to be a memorable first weekend for him and his team.
If you’re after total relaxation, as one of the city’s most exclusive wellness destinations The Spa at The Parkgate Hotel provides an escape from the world, in a stunning boutique setting filled with opportunities to relax and unwind.
It is just minutes walk from some of the most iconic location in Cardiff, and of course, if it’s the Principality Stadium you’re visiting, you really couldn’t be any closer.
