This autumn, as the leaves turn and the temperatures drop, Cardiff’s award-winning Parkgate Hotel is inviting us to savour a slice of the season with the launch of its first ever PIE CLUB.
Hosted in 2 AA Rosette-Awarded and Michelin Guide listed restaurant The Sorting Room – a chic and elegant location which is the city’s former Head Post Office – visitors can enjoy a range of innovative pie flavours, the names of which give a playful nod to the building’s history.
Among the savoury choices is The Postmaster, a pie twist on The Sorting Room’s signature Beef Wellington with slow-pulled beef brisket and mushroom duxelle enclosed in a herb pancake and puff pastry pie case.

Also on the menu is The First Class – which marries the finest Usk Valley Chicken with Welsh Leek and a creamy prosecco sauce for an indulgent experience – and The Special Delivery, which pairs mouthwatering Mac ‘n’ Cheese, silky lobster and umami bacon bits to create a deliciously different flavour explosion.
Vegetarians can enjoy The Telegram, a warming medley of autumnal vegetables such as squash, leeks and carrots, combined with a zingy cheese sauce.
For those with a sweet tooth, The Drunken Postman combines apple and brandy crumble with vanilla cider custard, whilst The Zesty Dispatch balances lemon and gooseberry for the perfect tart-meets-sweet finale.
