With everything from a family fun day, to plenty of live music, we have events at all of our local racecourses to celebrate each of them. So let’s take a look at what’s going on and a few dates for your diary.

CHEPSTOW RACECOURSE
After the great success of the Live After Racing event this year with the magnificent PALOMA FAITH, Chepstow have a calendar of events for all the family starting this Friday.
CARIBBEAN RACE NIGHT
Grab your gang together and get ready for a Friday night of fun and excitement watching live horse racing. It’s time to make the racecourse even more colourful with the best selection of Rums and the slickest selection of Reggae sounds. Tickle your taste buds with traditional Jamaican food, specialist craft rum and a fantastic LIVE performance to get your body moving.
Hear the sounds and feel the tropical vibes of the Caribbean at our Caribbean Racenight which as well as the great racing on the track, boasts a great party atmosphere with the sound of steel drums in the air and the tropical Trenchtown Experience playing after racing. They will be on stage around 20:45pm and will be performing for just over an hour. The site will be closed from 22:30pm.
They’ll be 6 Flat races for you to enjoy; each offering you the chance to experience the thrilling atmosphere of the crowd collectively cheering their favourites down the home straight and to victory.

FAMILY FUN DAY
Always a popular event at Chepstow, in support of NOAH’S JOURNEY.
Stretch out the final Bank Holiday weekend of the summer and enjoy a super day at the races this Bank Holiday Monday!
This is a great day out that you can enjoy with family or a group of friends. Soak up the atmosphere during each of the exciting flat races from the grandstand and take in the roars of fans cheering home their winning horses – there’s nothing quite like it!

CHEPSTOW FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL
Green Top Events Food and Drink Festivals combine a traditional market with a fun filled festival. The event is operated in conjunction with the racecourse to provide you with a unique festival experience.
There will be a range of delicious local artisan food and beverage producers, along with some equally talented hand-crafted stalls. We provide an opportunity to buy from local producers in a well-run safe environment.
We will have a food quarter to sample the delights of various street food vendors, an amazing bar area, a shopping area and an entertainment area, with a variety of local musicians and rides.
No horses plenty to eat and drink however. The CHEPSTOW FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL is on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th September. For more details and tickets go HERE.

THE BIG WELSH RACING WEEKEND
Day One:
Jump racing is back – and you can enjoy the action at Chepstow with a fantastic day at the races. The first day of the Unibet Jumps Season Opener meeting is one of the finest Chepstow events on the horse racing calendar.
When you’re looking for things to do in Chepstow, you can be sure of a warm welcome at one of the horse racing fixtures. So if you’re wondering: “Where can I find great events near me?” Chepstow – located in a picturesque spot close to the border between Wales and England – has the answer.

Day Two:
It’s the first Saturday of jumps racing of the new season at Chepstow – and you’re definitely invited for a fun day out. The second day of the Unibet Jumps Season Opener meeting always attracts a line-up of horses who provide terrific racing action.
Jump racing is spectacular and thrilling when you’re at the course to watch. You can savour a close-up view of the majestic sight of great horses in action and the skill and courage of the jockeys who ride them.
If you’re looking for things to do in Chepstow, a day at the races is always a treat and this is one of our top horse racing fixtures on the calendar.
This a hugely popular horse racing fixture, which starts the winter Jump season in the UK, so come and join us for an exciting day at the races as the jumps season begins to get into top gear.
Live Music After Racing
Live for an hour after racing are FROM THE JAM. Bruce Foxton’s band produced some of the biggest hits of the 70s and 80 including Going Underground, The Eton Rifles, Town Called Malice, Beat Surrender and Down In The Tube Station At Midnight.

CHRISTMAS PARTY RACEDAY
Christmas is around the corner – and what better way to get into the festive mood than with a day at the races. The festive Christmas Party Raceday will be full of seasonal cheer and tidings of comfort and joy at this lovely spot.
The racecard also features one of the best live horse racing fixtures on the calendar. The highlight on the card is the Coral Welsh Grand National Trial.
This race was won in 2020 by Secret Reprieve – who followed up by winning the big prize itself back at Chepstow a few weeks later at the Coral Welsh Grand National.
It’s Christmas Jumper Time…….

LADIES DAY
Oh yes it’s Ladies Night – well actually actually it’s LADIES DAY but the song doesn’t say that.
One of the must-attend horse racing fixtures at Ffos Las races, Ladies Day is back! We can’t wait to see the wonderful array of outfits inspired by iconic Ladies Day fashion on display at our most stylish event of the season.
Although there’s no strict dress code at Ffos Las, people usually like to dress for the occasion. So, get out your favourite outfit and brush off your best hat, who knows, you may even catch the eye of the judges in The Ladies Day Style Awards!
Style Awards: Dress to impress and be sure to enter our Style Awards on the day.
The one day of the season when the fashion is as important as the racing, stylish outfits and beautiful headwear will be in abundance. Thousands of racegoers will put their best shoes forward to impress the judges of the popular Style Awards, which is open to all, with the winning outfit taking home a huge £500 cash prize!
Even if you’re not looking to enter the Style Awards, many racegoers on Ladies Day enjoying dressing up and adding a beautiful hat, fascinator or even an on-trend headband to make the occasion a little bit more special.
How to enter the Style Competition
For those who’d like to enter this year’s Style Competition, make sure you head to the flower wall when you arrive to have your picture taken. There will also be a spotter in the crowd looking out for any particularly stunning outfits as well. The shortlist will be shown on the big screen and invited into the Parade Ring for the final judging to take place and overall 2022 Style Competition winner will be announced.

GENTLEMAN’S DAY FT WELSH CHAMPIONS HURDLE
Gents, it’s time to dress to impress and join in both thrilling racing and exhilarating entertainment at one of the most popular fixtures of the year. They’re anticipating a massive crowd so book early to join the action.
Who Will Win the Welsh Champion Hurdle in 2022?
This is arguably the best race in the calendar at Ffos Las Racecourse, the Welsh Champion Hurdle, on Sunday 9th October.
This race is one of the leading Ffos Las events on the calendar and it has been won by a host of stellar names. Glory And Fortune added his name to the roll of honour in 2021 – and you can be there to see who follows in his hoofprints.
Following the 100th anniversary of the Welsh Champion Hurdle celebrations in 2021, we’re really looking forward to yet another year of exhilarating racing and a great atmosphere.

HEREFORD RACECOURSE
ELY MEMORIAL FUND CHARITY RACEDAY
The SEASON RE-OPENER is always special and this one is no exception.
Help them return to the racing season with a bang and come down to the racecourse on the 15th of October to celebrate the start of the season!
Join them for the opening fixture of the season at the ELY Memorial Fund Charity Raceday. As they look forward to welcoming racegoers back for the first time since April, they are partnering with ELY to help raise awareness of increasing road safety across Herefordshire to reduce road collisions involving young drivers. ELY provide financial help towards funeral costs for families in Herefordshire when young loved ones aged between 17-25 years are tragically killed in road traffic collisions in Herefordshire and we are proud to be working with them.
The Charity Restaurant in Rusty Bridge is a fabulous way to enjoy the day and support this local Herefordshire charity. Enjoy your own table base for the day, guest speaker and a delicious two course lunch prepared by Head Chef Jon Williams.
