The weather wasn’t best friends to this years ABERGAVENNY FOOD FESTIVAL but no amount of rain could dampen the spirits of the organisers, exhibitors, chefs and visitors to this amazing annual event.
There was something like 180 exhibitors and thousands of visitors to the market town over the two days. The festival brought all the usual favourites and a few surprises too. There was cookery demonstrations and talks galore, the Party at The Castle and a spectacular fireworks display to round off the Saturday proceedings.
We were there to soak up the atmosphere and meet some of the guests who entertained the crowds over the two days.
Our Saturday feature is below…..
The usual sell-out event which is Party at the Castle had foodies dancing the night away, with a spectacular fireworks display which came right after the heavens had opened over the town.
The rain didn’t let up for much of the Sunday but that gave many of us the opportunity to drop in to some of the indoor events. One of those was at the historic St Mary’s Priory. The team put on a lovely selection of cakes and tea, served in a proper teapot. It was a nice to way take a break from the showers and support the work of the Priory…..
