We’re sure lots of you spent the festive season unwrapping, building and absolutely loving watching something come to life from those interlocking bricks we’ve known and loved for so many years. If you want to be precise they were actually invented way back in 1932 starting out as wooden bricks before become the plastic favourites we know now.
Imagine walking into a room filled with millions, and we do mean millions of these bricks and being able to play, build and dive into a pit filled with them. Well, that’s exactly what you’ll get at BRICKLIVE – ANIMAL WONDERS, which is at the ICC Wales this week.
We were there on opening day to meet the teams behind the amazing builds and the crowds of families, eager to build their own Lego creations.
This is one of the most fantastic, brick-tastic trails you’ll ever do, journeying through the natural world’s most incredible creatures. You’ll come face-to-face with amazing creatures, from an impressive Killer Whale, a pondering Panda to a statuesque Bengal Tiger. Take in the wondrous sights of the animal kingdom.
These are next level brick models, the likes of which you’ve never seen. You’ll experience life-sized sculptures of animals from around the world including, Rhinos and Giraffes to Gorillas and even Sharks! There’s even an Elephant standing over 2m tall and 3m long weighing an incredible 1088kg!
Best of all it’s all about encouraging interactive play, creativity, collaboration and physical experiences – the kids will be right in the action. All within a safe environment. Forget the phones and tablets, this is all about the bricks and proper family time together.
I remember last time they paid a visit to Newport, walking through the door, to the sound of excited kids (of all ages) and wall to wall building bricks everywhere – it was awesome.
In fact, you can take a look back at the last visit in our video, where you’ll also meet some of the team behind BRICKLIVE and some very excited families – HERE.
Of course, every good adventure needs a map, and there’s one for BRICKLIVE too. You can download it straight to your device, ready to take on you ICC Wales adventure, at the link below.
