Raise the Roof in Cardiff’s Iconic Spiegel Theatre With 12 Incredible Shows

Cardiff’s iconic Spiegel Theatre returns to Sophia Gardens this year, with 12 incredible shows. Some new, there’s plenty of favourites and a few surprises to help raise the roof this festive season.

CARDIFF CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL is from 4th December with a special show with The Bohemians – Queen’s Greatest Hits at Christmas.

Then from the 6th December Jack Frost: A Magical Christmas Musical will take centre stage for the whole month. As well as this family musical tale, there’s a whole variety of acts also on offer, making it the perfect place in the city to enjoy some festive theatrical magic.

Jack Frost takes us into a world of frosty fun and festive magic, a heart-warming Christmas musical bursting with toe-tapping music, dazzling dance routines, and laugh-out-loud comedy!

This enchanting new production follows Jack Frost as he brings sparkle and snow to this wonderful Christmas adventure. With the help of Bryn, the singing and dancing Polar Bear, and the return of the plucky gangster penguins, fresh from their hit appearance in last year’s Snow Queen, Jack sets out to save Christmas in the most spectacular way possible.

Perfect for all ages, Jack Frost is a joyful celebration of winter magic, friendship, and festive cheer that will leave you singing all the way home.

Jack Frost runs from the 6th to 28th December – details HERE.

Whether your fantasy is glitz and glamour, vintage nostalgia, or sheer festive escapism, step into the Spiegel Theatre and surrender to the magic.

And for those who love an alternative music night, the schedule is also packed with some of the best fully staged tribute shows out there, with nights celebrating the music of Taylor Swift, Legends of Motown, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, The Temptations, The Rat Pack, Disco Inferno and ABBA, just to name a few. Welsh National Opera will also be hosting Sounds of Christmas, guaranteed to raise the roof with stunning harmonies.

But if you want to experience a show in Cardiff’s most unique setting this holiday season, you need to be quick. Some shows, such as A Christmas Carol and the first night of Bring Them Home, have already sold out, following huge demand.

It’s no surprise that the venue is increasing in popularity year-on-year. As one of the largest Spiegel theatres in the world, audiences are wowed when just stepping into the venue, with a fully-immersive environment that leaves them just a stone’s throw from performers. With a capacity of 480 per show, guests can enjoy seating all around the stage which sits in the middle of the venue, rich in red velvet brocade and glistening mirrors. For a more premium feel, VIP booths are also available to book, accommodating 6 guests per booth.

No visit is also complete without cosy food and drink to tuck into before, during and after the show. Enjoy a traditional glühwein, spiced cider (or whatever else takes your fancy), from the fully stocked bars and catering outlets in the festive covered entrance marquee. It’s the perfect way to kick off your evening – whether with family, friends or colleagues. It’s sure to be a memorable and magical experience.
