Coca Cola Truck

I guess we know Christmas Is Coming when the famous Coca Cola truck appears on our screens but even more so when it rolls into town, and that’s precisely what’s happening today in Cardiff.

What’s more, every visit to the Coca‑Cola Christmas Truck magical winter wonderland will also count towards supporting those experiencing food poverty. With the theme for those attending of “Your Presence is Your Present”, Coca‑Cola Great Britain will donate the equivalent of up to 100,000 meals to those in need throughout the festive season.

The Coca-Cola Christmas Truck will arrive today, Sunday, December 4th, at The Hayes between 11.30am and 8pm. It’s really easy to find just outside the library (and it’s a massive red truck). Just be aware that the closing time will be based on demand and the queue.

Over the last nine years, the ever-popular truck tour has seen thousands of Christmas fans visit the famous vehicle, generating over 60,000 festive photos. It has travelled more than 800,000 miles – the equivalent of 30 times around the world – twinkling its 8,772 fairy lights and playing the iconic ‘Holidays are Coming’ jingle.

The iconic Coca-Cola commercial first came out in 1995 and has slowly transformed itself as a staple of the holiday season. If you haven’t seen the commercial, it goes a bit like this.

The truck drives through the mountains and it seems as if the truck itself never ends. In fact it almost looks like an ongoing train of Coca-Cola-filled 18-wheelers. After looking over the mountains and seeing all of the trucks, it finally reaches the end, revealing Santa on the back of the final truck raising a toast with a bottle of Coca-Cola.

On Thursday the truck stopped off in the centre of London and made quite a showing, we’ve also added a couple of your pics from previous visits to Cardiff.

So, we know what it looks like from the outside, and thousands of us will be going to grab a selfie or two tomorrow, but have you ever wondered what lies behind the doors of that most famous of trucks? I think it’s about time we took a peek and believe us it’s not all smoke & mirrors, it’s as much a festive fantasy on the inside as it is out……

Seriously, this is what it looks like behind the closed doors. Even better though is that people get to sleep in it….

Coca Cola occasionally run competitions, giving a lucky couple the chance to spend a night in the truck. Everything you need will be catered – including a a full Christmas dinner served with your favourite Coke drinks (of course). Fairy lights are strewn throughout the truck making the decor perfect for any Christmas fan.

After spending the evening eating, drinking free cans of Coca-Cola, and watching a movie on the flatscreen, the winners get to cosy up in one of the two twin beds. Take a look indie the truck HERE.

For those of us who won’t get to spend a night in the truck we can always have a selfie taken outside it. The iconic truck will be at St David’s tomorrow to spread some festive cheer.

You can visit the truck on The Hayes between 11.30am and 8pm, just outside the library.
