For those of us who watched the recent Netflix documentary, the news from LEWIS CAPALDI that he has cancelled all his public commitments for the next few weeks as his hectic schedule takes a toll on his physical and mental health is a blessing. We are all aware of the toll mental health can take and Lewis taking time out for himself is clearly the right thing to do, and one we know will come with the support of all his fans.
Issuing a statement to those fans, 26 year old Lewis said……
‘This is a really difficult message, and one that hurts me a lot to have to type, but I’m really sorry to say that I’m going to have to cancel all commitments from now until I play Glastonbury on June 24th.
It’s been such an incredible time leading into this new album, and seeing all of the support from everyone has been beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of.
That said, the last few months have been full on both mentally and physically, I haven’t been home properly since Christmas and at the moment I’m struggling to get to grips with it all.’

The message continued……
‘I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all of the other incredible shows coming up so that I’m able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come.
I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends and do normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better. I hope everyone understands.’
Here’s the statement in full…….

Lewis admits that his current mental health issues are a ‘direct symptom’ of his fame, which has taken him on tours around the world.
He said…..
‘I’ll take a few panic attacks and my Tourette’s and stuff for what’s happening.
But if it gets to the point where things get worse mentally, I think that would be a point where I’d be like, “I’m just not going to do this anymore”.’
He has also hinted that his third album, which is a good way off yet, might well be his last.
Lewis is due to play a massive show at Chepstow Racecourse on the 1st July. As far as we know, that is still planned to go ahead. We’ll bring you any news as and when we get it.
