AIDEN THOMAS is a 25 year old, emerging UK-based filmmaker from Porthcawl who really does it all when it comes to making movies. Everting from writing, directing, producing, cameraman, editor, composer, the only thing Aiden doesn’t do is act.
Aiden’s latest short film is now out and available to watch on YouTube. THE FREQUENCY is a post-apocalyptic, AI-themed story about a lone survivor following a mysterious radio signal.
It’s a lo-fi but cinematic short, shot around rural Wales using natural light, drone footage, and minimal dialogue. With themes inspired by The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, and Annihilation, the film explores isolation, memory, and fragile hope after an AI-triggered nuclear catastrophe.
Following a lone survivor navigating the remnants of humanity, the film captures haunting visuals, a sparse original score, and a growing sense of dread.
Shot across overgrown fields, abandoned buildings, and a real nuclear bunker location, the film blends natural environments with quiet world building and subtle effects. Featuring TIANA-LEE EVANS in the lead role, the story is a voiceover-driven mystery as she tracks a broadcast offering hope – and meets the silence left behind. Tiana is also co-producer of the film.
The film was made with only a few hours filming in one day, and two weeks post production. From conception, storyboarding, filming, directing, editing, sound design, colour grading, script writing, voice over writing, Ai and VFX / CGI, all mixing and mastering and more, totally done in house by Aiden Thomas.
Aiden already has an impressive CV having worked with the likes of Skepta, Jammer, JME, Frisco, Shorty, (Boy Better Know), P Money, Arrdee, Don Diablo, Nine & Dex, Smack One, A!MS (AM SNIPER) from So Solid Crew, Bassboy, Belle Humble, Mic Righteous, M DOT R and countless local bands and artists
