It doesn’t matter what age you are, put some Lego bricks in front of you and before long you’ll have built something fun and imaginative. It really is a toy that will never go out of fashion.
Now, families can enjoy their favourite toy, and the great outdoors at the LEGO BRICK WETLAND SAFARI. It’s basically a giant Lego trail at brilliant Llanelli Wetlands Centre, which is always worth a visit at any time of the year.
The awesome Lego sculptures include an otter, owl, a kingsize kingfisher all following a laid out trail for families to follow. If you complete the trail and enter the competition you could end up with a Lego goody bag!
The fun Lego event and trail is included as part of the normal admission price (free for members).
The trail features 15 GIANT models, including 2 NEW characters never before seen at Llanelli Wetland Centre, this exciting trail will make you look at our real-life wetland superstars in a whole new light!
All you need to is pick up your free trail card and follow the map to find all of these larger-than-life figures waiting for you out there amongst their living counterparts. They’re not hard to spot – some of these giant models are twelve times the size of the real deal!
Find out more about the creation of these unique large-scale LEGO® models, as well as the real-life species they’re sitting alongside.

Llanelli Wetland Centre Manager Jo Jones said……….
“We know from our previous Lego events that people of all ages love to see these giant models out amongst the real animals.
“The safari is a fun way to highlight some of the wetland species that the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) has worked hard to save, such as the iconic Hawaiian goose and incredible spoon-billed sandpiper.”
The trial is included in the admission fees to the centre and the centre is open daily from 9.30am to 5pm, with the last entry at 4pm.
While you’re there you might want to check out the CANOE SAFARI.
Take in a new view of the wetlands and paddle your way around our looping waterway, looking for wildlife as you go. Will you be lucky enough to see a family of swans, dazzling dragonflies, a stunning kingfisher, or even a shy water vole?
The canoes will be available throughout the local school summer holidays (Saturday 16 July – Sunday 4 September), 11am – 4pm each day, with the last canoes out at 4pm.
As a charity, they have limited resources so there is a charge of £9.95 per canoe to cover the cost of additional staff and maintaining the equipment.
They use traditional Canadian canoes which usually accommodate two adults or an adult and a child over 5 years old. An additional child (aged between 5 and 9 years old) can also be accommodated, sitting on a canvas hammock seat suspended in the middle of the canoe.
There’s no need to book! Canoe tickets can only be purchased on the day of your visit. Please pay for your canoe ticket at admissions when you arrive, and keep the ticket safe for presentation at the Canoe Safari hut.
