Regulars at THE OTTER pub in Newport have been enjoying a new look this month as they reopened following a £115,000 investment.
The pub’s refresh has seen the introduction of new wallpaper, stylish lighting, updated seating, and uplifting colour palettes. With an updated bar area and investment in team training, the pub has now officially reopened with a fresh new look.
Jayne Jeremiah, Midwifery Care Assistant at Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital and well loved local, who has organised events, food banks and Glastonselfy festival to raise money for Wellies Farm Charity, was chosen as the pub’s community hero to pour the first pint in celebration of the pub’s reopening.
Jayne said……
“Feeling very emotional – what a morning. I was nominated by our local community to open the relaunch of The Otter pub in Newbridge.
Firstly a HUGE thank you to each and everyone of you that actually took the time to nominate me I was honestly gobsmacked and blown away by it, and still don’t why I was nominated. So many other community hero’s out there, and believe it or not I do get quite shy by things like this.
But what a warm welcome we received from the whole otter team from the minute we walked in. W were shown around the new refurbishment which is so stunning. We had free drinks, the pulling the first pint which I hasten to add was my first ever pulled pint. To more drinks and a beautiful meal.
Thanks again to each and everyone of you that voted and to the amazing team at the otter I honestly feel like royalty”
And here’s the moment Jayne did the honours……
