Spring Clean Cymru is back in 2025! They want to inspire thousands of litter heroes across Wales to come together to collect and safely dispose of litter from our streets, green spaces and beaches.
Communities across Wales are invited to join Spring Clean Cymru and help pick up the litter that pollutes our neighbourhoods, beaches and parks.
The 2024 event saw 5,000 volunteers take part in 700 events across Wales. Keep Wales Tidy hopes to beat that in 2025, making this year the most successful spring clean yet.
This year, the message is simple. Show you ‘love where you live’ by pledging to pick up as much litter as you can between 21st March and 6th April. Whether you aim to pick up one bag or 100, you can pledge to litter pick as an individual, group, organisation or school. Just fill out the form below!
Want to join an organised clean-up instead? No problem – head to the map for details of open events that are being by the team, community groups and other organisations.

Keep Wales Tidy Chief Executive Owen Derbyshire said/////
“Every year we are inspired and humbled by the thousands of people across Wales who take part in Spring Clean Cymru and give their time to make a cleaner Wales for everyone. Our message this year is #LoveWhereYouLive and we really see that in the commitment of those who take part.
In an ideal world, there would be no need for people to spend time litter picking, but we are continually grateful to everyone who does so, making their local communities and beauty spots cleaner and safer for everyone.
Litter picking is a great way of coming together as a community, getting active outdoors, and benefitting your health and wellbeing. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never taken part before – all the information you need is on our website. Every single piece of litter picked up makes a difference and we’d love for you to join us in looking after and protecting the environment in Wales.”

They have an exciting addition to this year’s Spring Clean Cymru.
They’re launching on Friday 21st March with a World Record Attempt, and we’d love you to be a part of it!
They are joining forces with environmentalist Kate Strong and freshwater health expert Dr Numair Masud to set a new Guinness World Record for Most Participants in a River Clean-up (at Multiple Locations)
Join at any one of our three locations along the River Taff:
- Merthyr Vale in Merthyr Tydfil

Calling all schools! Help your pupils love where they live – join the Great Big School Clean!
At Keep Wales Tidy, they firmly believe no one is too small to make a big difference. That’s why they’re encouraging schools to get involved in the Great Big School Clean during Spring Clean Cymru.
You can hold a clean-up (or several clean-ups) anytime between 21st March and 6th April, collecting as much litter as you can.
There are even special Great Big School Clean resources, ideas and activities for anyone taking part.
