Welsh Water is the sixth largest of the ten regulated water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. Responsible for providing over three million of us with a continuous, high quality supply of drinking water and for taking away, treating and properly disposing of the wastewater that is produced.
Ensuring their offices, treatment facilities and visitor centre sites across Wales and Herefordshire are protected is a high priority. Tasked with carrying out that role are South Wales A&R CLEANING SERVICES based in Bridgend.
The commercial cleaners have been awarded a multi-year contract with Welsh Water, one of Wales’ largest businesses.
Selected for their reputation within the industry, and for the innovative cleaning techniques they have been operating throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the award-winning firm will provide commercial cleaning services to fifty-two Welsh Water offices, water treatment facilities and visitor centre sites across Wales and Herefordshire.

The contract incorporates cleaning, janitorial and hygiene services along with vital proactive and reactive COVID-19 hotspot cleaning. A&R will use its industry leading bio-misting technology to provide additional infection and viral control during the pandemic to help protect Welsh Water’s three and a half thousand staff.

The contract, which equates to over four hundred and eighty-five thousand square foot of work and visitor space, is one of many recent contract wins for the Bridgend based business who are well on track to another record breaking year.
A&R Cleaning & Security Services started in 2010 by husband and wife team Ashley and Rayner, they provide a range of professional commercial services including Commercial cleaning, Janitorial and Washroom services, Consumables, Pest Control, Industrial cleaning and Security Services.
One of those services is something called Bio-misting a two-stage process that involves the cleaning of surfaces (removing debris and dirt from surfaces) first. Once all surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned using virucidal products, we then use our bio-misting (Also known as fogging) to spray a fine mist of biocidal disinfectant across multiple surfaces (including hard to reach areas).
Once the disinfectant has settled onto the surfaces, it immediately kills 99.9999% of any remaining bacteria and viruses (including COVID-19) and creates a barrier that becomes reactive to any form of moisture (even small particles) for several days. Giving clients, their employees and customers biosecurity.
