The Celtic Manor Resort Backs National Hospitality Day With A New Cocktail

It’s been a particularly tough time during the pandemic for our hospitality industry here in South Wales. For those of us who use our restaurants, pubs and the like, it’s something we’ve certainly missed. In fact you only have to check the tens of thousands of you that headed to our EATING OUT GUIDE to see the appetite (sorry) we have for our establishments.

It’s been a long haul back, and I’m sure many would say we’ve a long way to go, but initiatives like NATIONAL HOSPITALITY DAY this Saturday, is one way to support the industry.

To put it simply, the day is a nationwide celebration of our brilliant and resilient restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars, and suppliers. It’s a chance for us to say “welcome back – we’ve missed you” by voting with our feet. It’ll be a celebration of all that’s great about UK hospitality; a collective shout-out for the places we’ve all missed; and a financial shot in the arm for a sector that’s been hit hardest by Covid

The CELTIC MANOR RESORT – the five-star, award winning destination at the gateway to South Wales – is showing its support for the hospitality industry by creating a bespoke cocktail.

Not only is the new cocktail a delight to enjoy, but all proceeds from each sale will be donated to Hospitality Action, a charitable organisation designed to support all of those who work in the hospitality industry, at every level and with any issue, from mental health and personal issues to those affected by the ongoing pandemic.

The Resort is also supporting The Drinks Trust, The Licensed Trade Charity and Springboard.

The delicious new cocktail, called Sweet Charity, has a raspberry twist and includes Absolut blue vodka, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, fresh raspberries, pineapple juice and sugar cane syrup, garnished with dried raspberries and a mint sprig. It will be available for all guests visiting the Mulberry and Merlins bars at the Celtic Manor Resort from 18^th to 25^th September.

Celtic Cocktail – Sweet Charity

Celtic Manor hopes that by taking part in the National Hospitality Day initiative, it will be able to provide financial support to a sector that’s been hit hard by the pandemic whilst also demonstrating the creativity and innovation of hospitality venues and those who work in them.

In addition to supporting this national initiative, Celtic Manor is taking a sustainable standpoint when it comes to Christmas this year. The festive season always goes off with a bang at Celtic Manor with many people choosing the venue for Christmas parties, getaways and celebrations, but there will be one bang missing – crackers!

To reduce its impact on the environment, Celtic Manor will host a ‘crackerless’ Christmas this year, but not to worry, there will still be plenty to celebrate with fabulous festive entertainment, food and drinks. Plus, instead of the cracker gift, Celtic Manor will donate a much more valuable gift – £1 for each booking will be donated to Hospitality Action.

“However, the pandemic isn’t the only issue that is front of mind for us and so many of our customers, we are also taking a significant look at our impact on the environment and taking steps to make a change – such as a crackerless Christmas. If we can support a worthy cause like Hospitality Action in the process, then that’s even better.
