As the summer draws to a close the AMMANFORD BIG WEEKEND is set to keep the party going just a little while longer with a fun-filled family day, Encanto in the park and even something for the adults when the kids are tucked up in bed.
The whole event is put together by Ammanford Town Council and although it seems there is more to come, there’s already a fantastic line-up planned for the weekend of Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th September – these are newly rescheduled dates so excuse the wrongly dated posters.
We’ve just heard that Ammanford Town Council has agreed to make the Big Weekend completely FREE OF CHARGE that’s both the Friday evening, the Family Fun Day and the Family Movie. If you’ve purchased tickets you will be refunded. Just one thing to note, you do still have to register for your free ticket for those events that need them.
Before the family day, there’s something for the over 18’s on Friday night.
On Friday evening (16th), leave the kids at home and come and enjoy an evening with Live Music, Movie & Cocktails when the over 18’s Party in the Park gets going on Friday 23rd September.
Not only are they showing the Huge Blockbuster ELVIS but are following it up with 2 x 45mins set from the amazing cover band SUPERHANS!
The movie was an instant hit when it was released.
From Oscar-nominated visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ drama “Elvis,” starring Austin Butler and Oscar winner Tom Hanks.
This film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).
Of course no party would be complete without Hot Food and Drinks and that will be available all evening as well as the outdoor Cocktail Bar, Popcorn, Nachos and more….
Everything you need to enjoy a Friday night away from the kids.
They tell. us they expect this one to sell out so you need to be quick and get your tickets, especially as there is limited capacity.
Tickets for the Over 18’s PARTY IN THE PARK are now FREE and you can get yours HERE.
Then it’s the FREE family funday on Saturday the 24th from 11am, watch the Carnival parade as it makes it’s way through town to the park where you will find Live Music, Birds of Prey, Laser Tag, Pony Parties, Giant inflatable obstacle course, Circus Skills, Face painting, Donkey rides and so much more.
First of all, let’s talk talent. If you fancy getting up on stage and doing what you do best then you can enter the Ammanford Has Talent Competition with £100 going to the Winner!!! In fact, there’s plenty of cash to be won as the town’s Mardi Gras Parade will have £50 up for grabs for first place.
It’s not all about the competitions and prizes, the emphasis really is on family fun and with a day filled with so much we reckon they have the fun element pretty much sewn up.
RESPECT – PARTY BAND will be performing at the BIG Weekend alongside some great acts this Saturday, they’ll be on at 12.45 so get there early!
Also, this is their last public show until November.
Then as the evening draws in there’s something for the over 18’s and even our favourite movie Encanto for the whole family to enjoy.
Then the whole weekend closes on Saturday 24th September with family favourite Disney’s ENCANTO.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” tells the tale of the Madrigals, an extraordinary family who live in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. Each child has been blessed with a magic gift unique to them – each child except Mirabel. But when the family’s home is threatened, Mirabel may be their only hope.
The film features all-new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”), songs I might add, we’ve been singing along too since the movie came out.
Relax and let the kids unwind and sing along after a fun filled jam packed day of family fun.
Once again you’ll need to be quick as tickets are limited!
Tickets for ENCANTO IN THE PARK are now FREE HERE.
