Can you believe it’s now 20 years since BLUE began their incredible career? They are celebrating this momentous occasion by doing what they do best, hitting the road and playing live shows, including one in Cardiff.
The Heart & Soul tour, has the four guys, Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe, playing all their big hits, and we’re told there’ll be some new songs on the set too. The tour is rescheduled from October and now brings the guys to town in December. They also have some very special guests, who we know will get the crowd well and truly warmed up. MEGAN MCKENNA and chart favourites B*WITCHED will be getting the pre-Christmas party started in style.
The band’s first album All Rise released in 2001, gave us that chart-topping hit ‘All Rise’, then there was ‘Too Close’ and the big number one single ‘If You Come Back’.
The band have collaborated with some of the biggest names in music over the twenty years. There is of course Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Lil’ Kim and Kool & The Gang.
It wasn’t always harmony with BLUE, they split in 2004, then got back together 10 years ago when they had the UK entry in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Since then they’ve released an album and had tours of varying sizes, this Heart & Soul tour however, will be the biggest and best for a long time.
We’ve done a bit of homework and we reckon it was March 2015, at St David’s Hall in Cardiff the last time Blue played South Wales as a band.
Understandably excited to be back out making live music together, the boys in Blue told us…….
“We can’t believe it’s been 20 years since All Rise, our debut album, was released. It’s been quite the ride since then and now we have so much to look forward to as we go into our third decade!
“We had a lot of time in lock down to reconnect as friends and we started thinking how we could celebrate the anniversary.
“The four of us started working on new music and it felt so good to be back doing what we love again. This time off during the pandemic also made us realise how much we missed performing live.
“We can’t wait to get back on the road and see all of you at our Heart & Soul Tour. We have been planning this tour for a while and we promise you, we’ll be putting on the best show and making it a celebratory night you won’t forget!
“We have some surprises up our sleeve for the 20th anniversary so stay tuned, 2022 is going to be a big one!”
B*WITCHED have been confirmed as special guests for Blue’s concert in December, with the groups joining forces for what should be a festive treat for music fans.
The ‘C’est La Vie’ hitmakers – comprising twins Edele and Keavy Lynch, Lindsay Armaou and Sinead O’Carroll – are thrilled to be joining the reunited boy band on their jaunt in support of their comeback album of the same name.
B*Witched told us……..
“We are so excited to announce that we will be joining Blue on their Heart & Soul arena tour in December 2022. We have been wanting to tour together for some time now after nicknaming ourselves Bluwitched several years ago and are thrilled it is finally happening.”
Also on the bill is Ex On The Beach, Celebrity Big Brother and TOWIE star MEGAN MCKENNA who is living her dreams of being a country singer by heading to Nashville and filming new show, There’s Something About Megan.
BLUE with special guests MEGAN MCKENNA and B*WITCHED get to the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on Sunday 4th December. Tickets are priced at £43 and £38 with a limited number of premium front tickets at £50. You can get yours right HERE.
