A junior football team in Undy will be donning new kit after receiving support from housebuilder Bellway.
Bellway, which is building 144 new homes at Greystone Meadows, off Parkhurst Drive in the village, has donated £250 towards new kit for the Under-16s at Undy Athletic Football Club, which will be worn during the team’s training sessions. The team play in the Monmouthshire Junior League.
The club, which is based at The Causeway, was founded in 1947 and now has young players aged from Under-4s to Under-16s, as well as an Under-18s, three senior teams, a girls’ section and a ladies’ team.

Under-16s coach Ian James says Bellway’s support towards training kits has been greatly appreciated.
“We are extremely grateful for Bellway’s support. As a club we rely heavily on sponsorship to be able to provide the team with training clothes and equipment. As we live in a small village securing donations can sometimes be difficult though.”
“We will be using the money from Bellway towards buying new rain jackets for the team to use all year round.”

Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, Dan Shone told us……
“As part of our commitment to the areas in which we build our new homes, Bellway continues to support local community groups in whichever ways we can.”

“Undy Athletic Football Club is a wonderful club which is continuing to thrive and makes up a great part of the village community. We hope that the Under-16s enjoy training in their new kit.”
The competitive section at Undy AFC has teams from u12s to u16s and including the mini section, they have around 200 players signed up. Not bad for a little village in South East Wales.
They have an excellent reputation with their teams having won league titles and cups at different age groups in the Monmouthshire Junior League. In previous seasons the teams have made it to the finals in all Monmouthshire League cups at all represented age groups.

They always strive to play football in the right manner giving players the platform to progress into the senior teams.
They currently have players playing in all 3 of the Senior teams who came through the Undy Junior section. If you’d like to find out more about the team, just go here. UNDY
As for Bellway Homes, they are contributing more than £1.3 million to the local community as part of the planning agreement with Monmouthshire Council for Greystone Meadows. If you’d like more details on the development, visit here BELLWAY
