BALLET CYMRU is an international touring ballet company for Wales, who have had a long-lasting relationship with Welsh singer, songwriter, author and broadcaster, CERYS MATTHEW. Cerys is a Patron of Ballet Cymru and has supported and worked alongside them for many years. Herself and her music have been heavily involved in the work of choreographers Darius James and Amy Doughty.

This Friday, Cerys will be supporting Ballet Cymru and National Youth Dance Wales’ performance of A Child’s Christmas by Dylan Thomas by signing copies of her book, ‘Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood:‘ more on that shortly.

The combination of the dance from Ballet Cymru and the voice and passion of performer Cerys Matthews always makes for one magical evening.

At the end of last year we caught up with Cerys to find out more about her love for the work of Dylan Thomas, and this project in particular. We also dropped in to Ballet Cymru in Newport to see the dancers rehearsing and meet artistic Director Darius James.
