Caring for patients during the pandemic has taken an enormous toll on NHS and social care staff. For health and care staff, the last 12 months have been likened to sprinting a marathon, with concerns raised over the impact on health and wellbeing.
Supporting staff both through and after the peak of the pandemic has been crucial, and in some way, we are all looking to help and show our appreciation.
EXPERIENCE WALES LIVE, is aiming to do just that with a 21-day road trip covering the length and breadth of Wales. It’s a unique project aiming to give back to NHS staff who have given so much during the pandemic.
The road trip, which is the first of its kind and supported by PaulCamper, Europe’s largest campervan and motorhome sharing platform, will take place between 21st June and 12th July. During this time more than 80 NHS Wales staff will be invited to participate in over 40 experiences ranging from Sheep Trekking, Paragliding and Dolphin Watching to Mine Exploring and Flying.

Experience Wales Live has been set up by Simon Grice who incepted it not only to show sincere thanks to those who work in NHS Wales but to support local businesses up and down the country who are involved in the experiences.
Simon told us……
“From Cardiff to Wrexham we will be visiting a plethora of towns and taking NHS Wales workers on a variety of outdoor, active, adventure and wellbeing experiences.
“With local businesses sponsoring the trip and offering their support, we now have forty experiences confirmed and we really hope the NHS staff signing up for them not only enjoy it but feel valued for the service they have provided us all during this pandemic.

“Before we set off we need to raise £27,500 and whilst we are on our way there, I’d encourage everyone to donate whatever they can, no matter how small, to help us fund this worthwhile and amazing project. We will also be keeping a video diary of the trip, showcasing the experiences and NHS workers involved as well as the local areas and will be sharing these on social media and with our backers.
“Experience Wales Live is our attempt at helping Wales heal together and we really hope you will join us in anyway you can.”

PaulCamper, who have recently launched in the UK and are Europe’s largest online platform for motorhome and campervan sharing are providing a campervan for the duration of the tour.
PaulCamper’s UK country Director is Steven Hagenah, he told us….
“Having recently launched in the UK, we couldn’t think of a better cause to support than Experience Wales Live.
“This exciting charity event will offer so many great experiences to NHS staff which will be valued by so many who have either been directly assisted or have had family and friends supported by the NHS during this pandemic.
“We hope over the 21 days they love travelling around in the Camper and we wish them all the best of luck.
