Jubilee Concert Stars Coming To South Wales

The Queen’s Jubilee concert finally took place last night (Saturday) and what a spectacle it was. With that hilarious Paddington sketch to kick it all of, we witnessed one of the most spectacular show we’ve seen for many years, with Buckingham Palace as the backdrop.

So, which of the artists we saw on stage will be heading our way this summer and where can we see them? Here’s our quick guide to the Jubilee Concert stars coming to South Wales soon.

It seems only right we begin with Motown Music royalty – DIANA ROSS.

To have Ms Ross playing Cardiff Castle is something very special. Her tour has been renamed to fit the tile of current album, the title track, THANK YOU, was a huge summer favourite last year and was very much a message to her fans for sticking with her through the years. It was also one of the songs she performed at the Jubilee Concert.

DIANA ROSS gets to Cardiff Castle this Friday, 10th June, with the incredible ONLY MEN ALOUD as her special guests.

GEORGE EZRA, in typical fashion, delivered a relaxed performance of some of his best hits, and the crowd loved it.

We’ll get more of those when he gets to the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on Wednesday 14th September.

The BRIT Award-winning, multi-platinum selling George Ezra announces Cardiff date on his brand new tour!

After two blockbuster albums – Wanted On Voyage and Staying At Tamara’s – George also debuts his latest single â€?Green Green Grass’ taken from his new album Gold Rush Kid.

With a new album to play us, and a catalogue of anthems for us to sing-a-long too, a night with George and his incredible band is always recommended.

ELTON JOHN was projected onto the front of Buckingham Palace for a stunning pre-recorded performance of Your Song, which was made in the red drawing room of Windsor Castle. It was a truly moving moment for everyone.

To say Elton is one of our hardest working entertainers would be an understatement. He’s been making music pretty much all of his life, and spent 50 years of it touring the planet. To call him a true Global Icon is not enough. Elton, and Bernie Taupin in particular, have changed the face of music in an unparalleled career that has redefined the cultural landscape,

His final tour called â€?Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ brings him to the Liberty Stadium in Swansea on Wednesday 29th June. Now we ought to tell you a couple of things – first of all, Elton is truly phenomenal live, we’ve seen him more times than we care to count, all of them truly memorable.

NILE RODGERS made an appearance with Duran Duran during the Jubilee concert, a band he’s worked with previously.

This is one of the many rescheduled dates but this is definitely worth the wait. NILE RODGERS & CHIC are heading to Singleton Park in Swansea this summer.

If you combine all record sales that Nile has waved his magical musical hand over, you’d get some eye-watering figures. In fact, his collaborations with such iconic artists as David Bowie, Diana Ross and Madonna have sold over 500 million albums and 75 million singles worldwide. More recently, his work with Daft Punk, Disclosure, Sam Smith and other artists have secured his place as one of music’s greatest living legends.

NILE RODGERS gets to Singleton Park in Swansea on Friday 29th July. Take a look at our feature for more and all the ticket details – HERE.
