As a prelude to the Machynlleth Comedy Festival, there’s an all-star preview, in association with the Wales Millennium Centre on Friday 12th April, and this is one date you definitely need in your diary.

The iconic Donald Gordon Theatre (that’s the big stage), will see KIRI PRITCHARD-MCLEAN host a wealth of acts who are set to appear in the ancient Welsh capital just two weeks later at the internationally renowned comedy festival. MARK WATSON, JESSICA FOSTEKEW, SOPHIE DUKER, OMAR BADAWY, SHARON WANJOHI and AMY GLEDHILL are the perfect way to warm you up for the 13th Machynlleth Comedy Festival.

Annually, the festival bring around 8000 people to mid wales to enjoy over 250 comedians. The event is widely regarded as one of the best comedy festivals in the world, and this is your chance to get a taste of why it’s so loved ahead of the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Festival director Henry Widdicombe told us…..

“it’s an honour to get to come and play in Wales’ most beautiful performance space, and we cannot wait to bring a flavour of this year’s Machynlleth Comedy Festival to Cardiff.

Many of the acts on at the Gala have already sold out their Machynlleth shows, and so it shows the quality of the line-up we’ve put together.”

The event will be live captioned by Claire Hill – an article on her work and the importance of live captioning in comedy can be read HERE.

Claire started training at a London court reporting company, and sidestepped into captioning when she went freelance 12 years later.
