It never feels like McFly have been away but unbelievably it’s 10 years now since the lads have been out on an arena tour. Well, now they’re back and heading into Cardiff and the date, fortunately, has been rescheduled – again (4th time lucky boys).
McFly are one of those unique bands. Not only have they been around a long time now (so no more boy-band name calling). Since hitting the big time as the youngest band ever to have a debut album go straight to number one – beating The Beatles’ long-standing record, they have each gone on to have individual, successful careers.
Harry has been off writing and dancing. Appearing in tours off the back of Strictly, which he won in 2011…….

Tom has been doing the Children’s book thing, very successfully…

Danny-The Voice-Jones (see what we did there?), Has been judging kids on The Voice….
-
Danny – The Voice…
Now a little word of warning about Danny – don’t let him show you any games on his phone. We were doing some press with the guys at an open air gig at Westonbirt Arboretum a few years back, and during a bit of down time, Danny showed us a ‘Word Game’ he was playing. What followed was 4 months of addiction and more than a few arguments with her indoors……..thanks Danny 🙂
Dougie has been modelling, acting and wrote a series of incredibly successful children’s books with Tom…

With seven UK number-one singles, five top-ten albums, six sell-out tours and ten million records sold worldwide, McFly are without question one of the most significant British pop acts of the twenty-first century. Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry have become one of our best-loved bands, not to mention major stars in their own right.
I think we should have a little reminder of what they do best as a band………
This has absolutely nothing to do with the tour but, for no other reason than you have to see this, if you haven’t already, and something like 20 million of us have. This is Tom’s incredible wedding speech. It’s 14 minutes long but very sweet and we defy you not to have a little tear…..

After McFly’s most recent public performances as a quartet – which included a full UK tour and four consecutive sold-out nights at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall that also gave birth to the pop phenomenon that was McBusted — the guys felt the need for some time apart.

But there has really only been one question on the lips of McFly fans everywhere: when will their favourite band be back on stage together? Well, we can tell you that time is almost here.
The 2021 Tour will be as spectacular an experience as we’ve come to expect from McFly. They will play their best-loved hits such as All About You, Obviously, Star Girl, One for the Radio and Shine a Light. They’ll also perform the cream of the Lost Songs originally intended for Album 6. And, knowing the guys, there might well be a surprise or two along the way…

Before we give you the details, we just want to mention a really important project that Dougie and Tom are involved with.
@ThreeUK and @Samaritanscharity are encouraging us all to be @BetterPhoneFriends. As the Samaritans say…..
Sometimes, listening is the only thing some people need need. It can be the difference between feeling connected and safe. Or feeling all alone. But it’s not as easy as it sounds.
In a world where we’re often told to talk, we can all learn to be better listeners. That’s why Three UK are partnering with Samaritans. To help everyone learn how to become Better Phone Friends.
Check out the video below where Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter chat about the importance of being a good listener. We’ve added the video to our South Wales Life channel, so please pass it on. For more details go HERE
