After 6 sell out years, PARTY AT THE PARK is returning to Newport, and the line-up for one of Wales’ biggest music events has been just announced.
There ain’t no party like a Retro Party, and this is right up there as one of the biggest. The date for your diary is Friday 19th July at the stunning venue of Tredegar Park.
You just have to look at the names on the poster to see what sort of party we’re in for with some of the best tunes from the 80s, 90s and 00s, with world-renowned artists set to take the stage. There’s performances from B*WITCHED, LEMAR, MARTIN KEMP, ARTFUL DODGER, SHOLA AMA, BIG MAC’S WHOLLY SOUL BAND, ODYSSEY, THE MARLEY EXPERIENCE and EARTH WIND & FIRE ft AL MCKAY.
B*Witched’s appearance at the festival comes with some new songs too. Last March, the Irish girl group released ‘Birthday‘ to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their eponymous debut album. Of course we’ll get all their biggest hits including – C’est La Vie, Rollercoaster, To You I Belong and Blame It On The Weatherman.
Al McKay, six-time Grammy winner and former guitarist for Earth, Wind & Fire, continues the legacy of the American soul group. With his band Al McKay Allstars, he’ll be bringing his show – The Earth, Wind & Fire Experience, featuring the groups greatest hits, like the seminal ‘September’ – to Party At The Park.
Spread across three stages including the brand new Disco Wonderland stage and the return of the Rum and Reggae stage, the lineup will take you on a journey through the decades!
PARTY AT THE PARK is organised by Escape Records, which is behind some of Wales’ most prominent music festivals – including In It Together Festival, Inside Out, Colour Clash, and Escape festival.
