A RICKY GERVAIS tour is always a big thing, one that brings him to South Wales is a really big deal as he doesn’t stop off here quite as often as we’d like. It was ARMAGEDDON when Ricky played the arena last November. Such was the demand for tickets he’s now added an extra date in Cardiff on Wednesday 14th June.

He started his comedy career in 1998, when he appeared on The 11 O’Clock Show. However, he is best known as the star and creator of television programme The Office from 2001 until 2003, followed up with Extras in 2005. He has since gone on to create and appear in several more successful TV shows, including Derek, An Idiot Abroad and After Life, as well as movies such as Ghost Town and The Invention of Lying. He has also hosted the Golden Globe Awards five times.

Considered one of the most influential British comedians since Charlie Chaplin, (he received the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy 2016 BAFTA/LA) Ricky returned to the stage with SuperNature last year, following the global success of his recent Netflix stand-up special Humanity, which was his first in 7 years.

EXTRA CARDIFF DATE – WEDNESDAY 14th June

Picking up yet more awards for his collection, Ricky made a rare appearance at the National Television Awards recently, with his partner Jane Fallon. Obviously keen to deliver something as successful as AFTER LIFE on Netflix, he said….

“I’ve got to start writing a new show.

But I’m loving stand-up too much, I really am. That’s my new favourite thing, it is lovely.”

Talking about Armageddon before the tour began, Ricky said…….

“I’ve done all the warm ups so I’ve got the next show ready.

That show starts in November and I’ll tour that for the next year, that’s going on Netflix in about a year and a half.”

The ARMAGEDDON tour gets back to the International Arena in Cardiff on Wednesday 14th June. Tickets are available for pre-order very soon from HERE.
