With the WWE CLASH AT THE CASTLE fast approaching, we are joining in all the excitement ahead of Saturday’s event at the Principality Stadium. This is set to be the biggest wrestling event to take place in the United Kingdom in more than three decades and a walk around the city centre will show you just how big a deal this is. In fact it’ll be exactly thirty years since SummerSlam ’92 took over at London’s Wembley Stadium.

We’ll be meeting the stars on Friday and bringing you as much of the build-up as we can over the next few days. First, we want to find out what three of the WWE Superstars are most looking forward to about arriving into the capital.

WWE CLASH AT THE CASTLE

We spoke to RIDGE HOLLAND, ALEX BLISS and DOUDROP to get the lowdown from them on this momentous clash……..

Ridge, when were you last at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and what do you remember about it?

“I was last there in 2003 for the Challenge Cup Rugby League Final between Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos. I remember it well because Bradford is my team and they narrowly beat Leeds Rhinos. So that was a good day!”

It is a truly special stadium… how does it feel inside when it is full of people?

“It is definitely loud. I can still remember when I was a kid how loud it can be, but I just think that it’s going to be even louder with the WWE Universe there because the UK fans go crazy and I really can’t wait to hear it. When I get the opportunity just to just walk out there and hear them all, you know, I can’t wait. They’re going to blow the roof off the place.”

RIDGE HOLLAND

Alex, the Clash is just a few days away now, what should fans look forward to?

“A lot of fun, hard hitting action, and a great card. There are lots of good stories right now that are going to be leading to Clash at The Castle, especially with our new creative direction. It should be fun.”

One of the big stories that has been developing is, of course, Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns. As a fellow member of the WWE roster, what do you think we can expect from this battle?

“I’m excited to see that one. I’ve always been a big fan of Drew. He’s a dominant force for sure. I think he can definitely take Roman Reigns and what better place than Cardiff? I think it’ll be a really interesting clash… with no pun intended!”

What should someone do or see in Wales if they haven’t been before?

“I think just explore the historical side of it if you can. Cardiff Castle is amazing, I love walking around the Castle. Cardiff is a really young and vibrant town so, right by the Principality Stadium, there’s a street to the left filled with bars. You’ll be well cared for there.”

As a Brit, what does it mean to you to have a WWE stadium show taking place on this side of the Atlantic?

“It’s something that I probably never thought would happen. It’s just a massive opportunity to give back because of all the support from the UK fans. Everything we do that night, regardless of what happens, it’s an opportunity to say thank you. It is going to be absolutely electric.”

ALEX BLISS

Doudrop, you are now living in the US as a WWE Superstar on RAW. What have been the biggest differences from living in Scotland?

“The heat! Everywhere in America is so warm. As a plus size, partially ginger, very fair skinned Scotswoman I am not ok. I can’t wait for winter to come around!”

The Clash is coming, what can fans look forward to at this momentous stadium event?

“Do you know what? I think the fans can look forward to having the most exciting matches with the best WWE Superstars, but do you know what I think is the biggest takeaway from this event? I think it’s what the WWE Superstars can expect from the Welsh fans, because it’s going to be absolutely wild. It’s going to be crazy and it’s going be one of the best events they’ve ever performed at.

Have you been to Wales many times before? What do you love about the country?

“I love that it’s so green and lovely and lush and all the people are just delightful. I love listening to them speak because it’s like a song when they talk. I love the Welsh.”

Any advice for fans who may be visiting Wales for the first time?

“They should go into any local pub and talk to the wonderful, friendly people in there and have some of the local fare because everything that’s on offer will just be exquisite.”

Well we have to ask, do you know any Welsh…?

“I’m going teach my fellow WWE Superstars how to say good night, which is ‘Nos Da’. It’s a great thing to say before you punch somebody and knock them out. Some of them might have to be told they are a bad boy, which is ‘Bachgen Drewg’.”

DOUDROP

Finally Ridge, what should fans look forward to at Clash at the Castle?

“You’re looking at the best WWE Superstars in the world doing what they do best. Blood, sweat and tears.”
